At least it’s sorted for a while now and didn’t involve a new application.

It is a no spends day today. Number 1 for May. I expect it will be a small number again this month!!

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. It was toast for breakfast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is minted lamb ribs with garlic rice and vegetables.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • vacuuming the house
    • cleaning the bathrooms

That's the problem with the so-called "pre approved" figures, they seem to be actual figures.  Think you've made the right decision by just moving it to one of the cards you already have rather than taking out another card.

I'm sure you'll soon start getting that amount down.

It won't take long to get the card balance going in the right direction again.

We are going to have a look through our finances again before too long and see if we can designate a bit more money each month to the card and get it heading down faster.

You’re doing so well RS I’m sure you’ll manage to sort something to pay it sooner. If not don’t stress as it’s going in the right direction. Be kind to yourself….you’ll get there.

So long as its paid of by the time we remortgage in 36 months we are not overly bothered.

It wouldn't be the end of the world if it wasn't paid off by then but it makes a nice target date to aim for.

In other news we only realised this evening that we had turned the heating off last weekend when we went away, no point heating an empty house, and haven't turned it back on yet 🤣🤣🤣

It's warm enough so we will leave it off unless we get another cold snap.

I reckon you will definitely find the extra to get it gone sooner RS - if you think back to the beginning of your diary I think there was a lot more being sent to debt repayments then, so the slack is probably still in there somewhere even if you alternated of a month back to more hardcore DFW ways and then a month with the more relaxed lifestyle perhaps. It would be good to have it well gone by the time the remortgage comes along really as the longer your file is clear of debt, the better deals are likely to open up for you.

Our heating went off in the middle of last month I’m pleased to say - we did use the boost function for an hour of heat a couple of times after that, but not for the past 10 days or so, and realistically it’s not likely we’ll need it again now until the autumn. (I hope!)

No real jobs to do tonight. Just need to plug the van in and turn on the fridge. We will put our clothes on there as well tonight so we just need to sort out the food in the morning. Must not forget the brisket this week  :D

If you carry on paying £300 a month it should be paid off in around 3 years so that would work out ok providing you do not have several expensive BT fees. You will  have an extra £393 from May 26 anyway so even if you have some left it will soon be cleared. The plan then is to overpay the mortgage is it?
