In fairness I might well have stuck the heating on myself yesterday evening if we’d had that possibility - definitely distinctly nippy down here yesterday too!

We had a lovely day at home yesterday. It made a nice change to be here.

The first bbq of the year was well received.

Today we are having a breakfast bbq and then we are heading out for a local walk with the dog. Not sure where yet though.

Dinner later is roast pork and all the trimmings.

I want to get the van cleaned out today and I'm putting the bedding and towels through the new washer dryer to try it out. Didn't get chance yesterday.

It might be a no spends day today but I won't call it just yet.

Decided to get the van bedding washed and hung out to dry while it's sunny.

Got another load of bedding and towels in now on a wash and dry cycle. Feels wrong when it's sunny out to be using the dryer but we need to make sure it's working properly.

The dog is being funny. The new machine makes different noises to the old one and he has spent the morning barking and growling at it 🤣🤣🤣

Not a no spends day today. I need to go and do the shopping tonight.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is turkey and chorizo pasta bake with garlic bread.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • shopping
We ended up cooking dinner on the bbq last night it was so nice out. We had a lovely rotisserie jerk pork loin.

Not a no spends day today. We have been and picked up some solar lights for the garden this morning. I spotted them while I was doing the shopping last night but wanted the other half to look at them before I committed to buying them. Only £20 spent and we have loads to hang up now.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is ribeye steak with sweet potato wedges, beer battered onion rings, garlic mushroom and grilled peppers and tomatoes.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • load of washing
    • hanging the solar lights
    • moving some paving slabs and sand into the garden
We have a delivery of paving slabs and sand being delivered today. Four years it has taken us to decide where we are going to put the bins in the garden. Now we have finally decided we are going to build a base for them at the weekend and then we have some slabs left to build a base for a greenhouse. But that is going to be more of a winter job. We are a bit late in the year now for starting of any veggies in a greenhouse. So we will get it built over the winter ready for next spring.
  • We have always found that solar lights don't give enough light off so we ended up with outdoor plug in ones. Hope you'll post pics once up!

We don't really want them for their light output, it's more just to break things up a bit and add some evening interest to various parts. We have a lot of brick wall in our garden which is fantastic for privacy and makes it a lovely sun trap in the morning but can look a bit prison yard at nighttime!

We will post some pictures once we have got it sorted out.

We had a greenhouse at the old house and really enjoyed growing stuff.

We will get an automatic watering system for when we are away. Had one of those previously as well. They have really come down in price.
