We got our motorhome back after having the cam belt changed and was pleased it wasn't as expensive as I'd expected - just over £450.  Was glad the money was already in the Pot to pay for it.  Tax has been paid.  Next thing in the insurance which isn't until July so a few more months to top up the Pot again to pay that!

That's good to know. Ours is having a full service as well so it will be more expensive again. Like you though we are glad that we have the funds put aside available to pay for it.

Need to tax ours tomorrow before the rate goes up on the 1st April!!

When we last had it done with service it was nearer £900!  But that was about 6 years ago so may well be dearer that now.

We're actually thinking of downsizing to a PVC (Panel Van Conversion) mainly because we ar both over 70 and if anything happens to DH I won't be able to drive the current motorhome as I haven't renewed my C1 licence (wouldn't drive it even if I still had the C1!).

Can see the benefits of a panel van conversion but not sure we could downsize to one having had the space that a coach built offers in comparison.

Ours is only short at 6m long but the extra width makes all the difference to the internal space.

We've actually got a 7.5 metre A Class so it would be a considerable drop in size!  Just need to see if we can find one at the right price as being retired we don't want to take on credit so will have to be paid for from savings and they are going down!

Not a no spends day today. I have been to the shop to pick up the weekend beer!!

A busy day on the expenses today. £200 sent to the savings account, £100 sent to the Premium Bonds account, van VED paid and home insurance renewed. I have managed to get a further discount on the home insurance and a better level of cover for £130 so I am more than happy with that.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was crumpets, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is pizza and a few beers on the sofa watching a film or two.

No jobs tonight. We are going to take it easy and chill out on a rainy Friday. Will have to convince the dog to go for a walk. He wasn't bothered this morning.

That will be quite some down size!

    Good luck with your search.

Can't believe how quickly the motorhome loan seems to be coming down.  Doesn't seem that long ago that you bought it and you have certainly got a lot of use from it.  When's your next trip?  Easter?
