Have to admit that at this time of year we tend to look for places with hard standing rather than just grass.  It just makes sense for us with a 4.5 tonne vehicle and twin rear wheels!  Not easy to be towed off anywhere!

We are on hardstanding at Tewkesbury if we can get on the site!

Declaring it no spends today. So number 1 for April.

The van  is washed and filled with water, just need to add clothes and food in the week and we are ready to go.

We washed the car while we had the stuff out doing the van.

The dog has been out for a walk in the woods. He is in a can't be bothered mood today, we had to drag him round the walk.

Dinner is prepped ready for later. So right now, the bar is open.

  • Enjoy it whilst the sun has made an appearance! Bar looks fabulous x

Didn't last long. We had a quick drink and retired to the kitchen. Not as warm as it looks out there 🤣🤣🤣

Not a no spends day today. I need to do the shopping tonight after work.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is chicken and chorizo pasta and garlic bread.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • shopping
I need to phone the campsite we are supposed to be staying on today and find out if it is likely to be open on Friday when we are due to arrive. There are photos on social media of vans on the site axel deep in water. If we can't go there then we need to conjure up a Plan B in double quick time!!

The bar is looking good 👍 Just need some warmer weather now. The sun is out here but it’s not particularly warm.

Yes. It's lovely in the sunshine but still very cold in the shade.

In other news I have rung the campsite and we should still be good to visit at the weekend. The flood waters are receding quickly and they are washing the hardstanding pitches as and when they can. They have no more heavy rain forecast so they reckon unless something major changes then we should be good to go.

They will ring us if anything changes but they don't expect that it will.

They are cancelling bookings for the grass pitches though so there will be some disappointed people getting messages this week.
  • Glad you should be OK for your weekend away x
