The dog has had his groom and is looking very dapper. We decided to take him to the garden centre to see the fish because he has been good and growled at the groomers this time 😃
That is where it got a bit expensive though. A garden bar table that we had been eyeing up last summer but was about £1700 so we firmly said no, was for sale as a display model with some slight damage for £350. You won't see the damage where it will sit on our patio so we had a couple of coffee's to muse over it, had a second and third look at it and then bought it. It is being delivered tomorrow.
On the way home we took the dog for a walk around a local visitor attraction/nature reserve which he loved. He likes exploring in the caves and the nooks and crannies in the cliff's.

Then it was back home to have an impromptu clean up of the patio ready for tomorrow's delivery. It looks a hell of a lot better for a jet wash and a tidy up and the bins putting back in summer mode at the bottom of the garden.
We are going to ask the other half's sister if she wants our current table and chairs. They were only a cheap supermarket set we bought when we bought the house but they have lasted well and there is nothing wrong with them. If not we will put them on a local sales site. Someone will want them I'm sure.1 -
That’s a fantastic saving on the garden bar. We got a similar bargain with our garden sofa set it was vastly reduced when a DIY store was closing down. It’s lasted years and still looks good.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

It is a great deal. I think we were just in the right place at the right time. Don't think it would have been for sale long. They had literally just put it out.Sun_Addict said:That’s a fantastic saving on the garden bar. Not what we expected to be buying this weekend by any means. But I'm sure we will enjoy it this summer and get plenty of use from it.
It should be something that lasts us years. It is very well constructed. The other half had inspected every inch of it 🤣🤣🤣
Just need to top the savings back up again now!1 -
Well you did say it wouldn't be a no spend day. A great reduction on something you wanted.2

Hoping to have a less spendy day today.
We are going to get up shortly and have breakfast and walk the dog. We are still waiting for confirmation as to what time our delivery will be today. So we can't make any concrete plans for the day yet.
Going to have a full English for breakfast and dinner later is roast chicken.
My one task for the day is to clean outthe van ready for next weekend. That shouldn't take long though.0 -
The bar table has been delivered and is now gracing the patio. It has shown how uneven the patio is. We need to level it up in the week 😀
Just ordered some stools to go with it.
The other half then set about cleaning the bbq after its winter of rest. He is disappointed it is too cold to get out and use it now it's all ready to go.

We took the dog for a walk in the next big town which he really enjoyed despite the cold.
We are now back at home, the van is cleaned and ready to go and dinner is prepped for later. Now time to sit down and chill out I think.3 -
The bar will be brilliant when the weather picks up. Got yourself a bargain there 😀I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

We need to make sure we make use of it when it's warm enough to venture outside.Sun_Addict said:The bar will be brilliant when the weather picks up. Got yourself a bargain there 😀
Don't think that should be a problem though. We almost live in the garden in the summer.2 -
You've got yourself a bargain @RelievedSheff I'm sure you'll have no problem putting it to good use. Was it from the garden centre with the koi?
Seeing your BBQ reminds me the other day my son wanted me to fire the BBQ up, it was !!!!!! freezing that day as well told him absolutely no chance before Easter.1
