We were expecting the worst this time i will admit!
Alls well that ends well though.
Hopefully we can return the hire car tomorrow. Not the end of the world if not.0 -
It is definitely a no spends day today, Number 10 for February. Yesterday eventually turned out to be Number 9.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is venison sausage hot dogs with chips and onion rings.
No jobs to do tonight. We got them done last night so that tonight we can chill out on the sofa with a couple of drinks.
The hire car is going back today. It seems to run on fresh air. Filled it back up this morning and it only took 3 litres. Just worked out from the paperwork that we have and the mileage on it now that it has done 58mpg. It's more economical than our diesel Hyundai. Won't be buying one anytime soon though. It is just too small. I only have small feet and I was catching all 3 pedals at the same time!
It is a well toyed up little thing though. Has a great spec for a small car. Just a shame Ford didn't put the same effort into making it drive nice.

I have a fiesta and it's quite high end but it's really nice to drive, nowhere near that fuel economy though! Quite jealous haha

There is something amiss with the rear suspension with this one that is knocking away which probably doesn't help the ride or the handling. The worst thing though is the stupid 18 inch alloy wheels it has which are far too big for the car and give it a terrible ride.LittleMissDetermined said:I have a fiesta and it's quite high end but it's really nice to drive, nowhere near that fuel economy though! Think this one is quite high up the range. It's an Active X Turbo. It's a nice looking car and the list of equipment is impressive for a little car, but I couldn't bring myself to pay what they are (£20k for a 3 year old car) and drive a 3 cylinder car.
I'm looking forward to jumping back in the Hyundai tonight

We were considering getting another small car for instances like this when we really could do with a second car. But for the rare occasion that it happens I think we will be better off just hiring one as and when required for what little they cost.
Mind you it helps that work have an account with the car hire place so they get discounts and free delivery/pick up.0 -
Not a no spends day today. I'm at the hairdressers this morning and we need to pick a few bits up from the shop. Mostly drink to take to our friends house. We are at a friend's house this weekend planning our trip to France later in the year.
Breakfast will be cheese on toast this morning and we will grab a light lunch out somewhere. Not sure what we have for dinner later.
The dog was a little swine last night. He managed to grab and kill a toad last night while walking in the woods. The toad had the last laugh though as it left the dog foaming at the mouth and not very happy with himself. We had to ring the vets for advice. Thankfully he was OK after we rinsed his mouth out.
Idiot dog. I doubt he has learnt his lesson. No doubt he will attempt to do the same again 😕1 -
Our little one tried to do the same when we moved something in the garden. Fortunately as was old the toad moved faster than she did. She loved chasing anything that moved when she was young but as she got old it was all too much trouble although she did occasionally have ago at the local crows for a second or two.Have a lovely time at your friends planning an exciting trip.0

We had a great night last night. We have managed to work out a vague route of where we will go and some potential dates. Just need to double check we can both get the time off work. Think we should be fine.
Today should be a no spends day. Number 11 for February. We have no plans to go anywhere other than home.
We are having a full English for breakfast and roast pork and all the trimmings later on for dinner.
We will go for a walk with the dog shortly.2
