An early start this morning for a Saturday. Just having a quick coffee and then I will take the dog for a quick wee while the other half gets the van out.

Quick pit stop for breakfast and then on the road heading to Wales.

I don't think it will be a massively spendy day today. Most of it will be spent driving. Google maps reckons 4 hours so with the van it will be closer to 5 plus a stop.

Well that was a hair raising drive.

Sat nav took us on a detour due to heavy traffic and it wasn't the best route for a fat van 😬

The last 30 miles were shall we say stressful. But the other half like the superstar that he is, didn't complain and got us here unscathed, somehow.

The site here is amazing. 300 acres of fantastically varied land and you pitch where you like.

We have found a tucked away spot big enough for one van. Now sat with a beer or two to settle in. Going to have a stroll on the sand dunes soon with the dog.

It should be a low spends day today. I think we will head to the bar later for a couple of afternoon drinks. It is a fair walk from where we have pitched up.

Going to go for a walk in the sand dunes with the dog after we have had a coffee.

Breakfast is a full English and dinner later is roast chicken with all the trimmings.

Judging by the noise last night and the time it went on to (2am) I'm going to predict a few sore heads this morning. 🤣🤣🤣

Fortunately we were far enough away that it didn't really bother us too much and we slept through most of it. Even the dog wasn't bothered.

A quieter night tonight wouldn't go amiss.

Nice view.  Shame about the noise - it's one of the reasons we don't really like sites but at least you've managed to park yourself quite a way away from others.  I can never understand why some people are so inconsiderate!  Even on the aires in France where everyone is usually parked close together you don't tend to get the late night noise.

I'm sure you're going to love France when you go next year - it's just so much more motorhome friendly.  No need to book anywhere just travel and find somewhere to park.  If where you plan is full (very rare) then they'll be another aire a few miles down the road.  Not only are there plenty of places but a lot of them are free and even the ones you have to pay for I think the most we've ever paid is 12 Euros for the night - but that was an aire with shower and washing machine!

    Enjoy your long weekend.

We have had a lovely walk on the beach and by the harbour. It really is a beautiful island.

It was against our better judgement to come onto a site on a bank holiday weekend 😕

August Bank Holiday at that in the middle of the school holidays.

On the bright side I doubt last nights noisy neighbours will be noisy late into the night tonight. They look like the walking dead today 🤣🤣🤣

Think a lot of people will be going home tomorrow. I believe our plan might be to move onto another part of the site tomorrow if we can find a decent spot.

It might be a no spends day today. We don't need to buy anything.

Breakfast is a full English again and dinner later is a bbq if the weather holds, a mixed grill if not. It got chilly yesterday by mid afternoon with a sea breeze rolling in.

The dog is loving it here. He was shattered yesterday. More exploring for him today on the beach and in the dunes.
