The second time in as many years now that they have flooded. The canal is also now out of action and not sure if the train station has reopened yet.2 -
That’s just awful.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Not a no spends day today. The supermarket has got the cheap beer deals on again so we have been and topped up our stocks with another six cases. Will pick another six up next week and then we will have loads to take away with us next month when we head to Devon and Cornwall.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was crumpets, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is haggis with root veg mash and vegetables.
Tonight's jobs are:- vacuuming the house
- cleaning the bathrooms
- dusting the house
- load of washing (which should be dry when we get home)
- walking the dog

We are looking forward to Cornwall. It's been a few years since we last went. Looking forward to exploring some parts we have not seen yet and revisiting some favourite places.milann said:That rain is just awful. France for our two week holiday next year for us.1 -
France is much better set up for motorhomes than the UK. We tour for a month at a time and have been for about 15 years and still haven't seen it all!
We're planning on going to Belgium and Germany next month - hoping to hit a wine festival or three along the Moselle!

We used to go to Devon and Cornwall every year when the kids were little. We used to visit lots of different places.
Good idea to stock up on the beer while it's on offer.

This weekend is a couple of nights at a quiet spot on the river.Sun_Addict said:We used to go to Devon and Cornwall every year when the kids were little. We used to visit lots of different places.

Where are you off to this weekend?
Meeting up with a good friend on Saturday. Think he will come to see us by boat. So if the little dog is lucky he might get a boat ride to the pub which he will be pleased about.

£393 sent to the motorhome HP loan today. Other than that it will be a no spends day which now makes it 9 for August.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is meat and potato pie with jacket potato (I'm trying out some of the homemade frozen ones tonight) and mint and chilli mushy peas.
No jobs to do tonight unless you count filling up the water tank on the van before we set off. I plugged the van in last night to make sure the fridge is cold and we have cold beer tonight. Didn't want a repeat of last time when I forgot!
We will get showered when we get home from work and then set off to our destination for the weekend. It is only about 40 minutes from home, so we should be set up with a beer in our hand by 7.30pm I should think. Just in time to sit and watch the sun go down over the river.1
