Good morning everyone. It is going to be another hot sunny day.

Not a no spends day today. I have had to go to the shop this morning to pick up some fruit and veg. Not sure how but we have completely misjudged it this week. Only £5 spent though so not a massively spendy day.

Breakfast and lunch are from stores today. Breakfast was toasted fruit loaf and we have both taken our packed lunches to work. We are going to the local pub tonight though for their BOGOF burger night. We have some vouchers still so it will only cost us a couple of quid for four pints and two burgers. Expect it will be busy in there again tonight so we don't expect the best service or the best food but neither of us fancies cooking tonight so we will have whatever comes  :)

No jobs to do tonight. It will be home, showered and back out again.

  • I have weeks where I completely botch the shopping, even though I always make a meal plan and then a shopping list - no idea how I do it! £5 top up shop isn't too bad :)

Enjoy your burgers, they looked awesome when you posted pics, I probably need to find our local pub of that chain.

We are hoping that the burgers will be good this time. Last time we went when it was warm and sunny the pub was packed and the food wasn't up to their usual standards!!

So the burgers didn't go to plan. The local was absolutely packed so we didn't even go in.

Instead we went to a pub a few miles drive which is a bit more out of the way so was much quieter.

The food was nice but it did cost us £40 for two meals and four drinks rather than the couple of quid we had planned to spend.

Never mind. You win some you lose some.

Glad you had a nice dinner out. I'd call £40 for 2 meals and 4 drinks really good value so I think you've done well. We had lunch out today £26.50 for the three of us, shared 2 paninis, a bag of crisps and a piece of cake between us and had a drink each. Not a chance we'd have eaten it all had we a full meal each but probably did look like I'm even more hard up than I am haha still, it's better to not let food just go to waste.

Did you buy the drone in the end? If not I think you'll probably find it's the type of thing you might get a deal on in the winter when there are less opportunities to fly it and perhaps a lesser demand as it's a lot of money for a 'toy' in these times.

No. We haven't ordered the drone yet. Still not sure when we will order one yet. Might wait a few months until we have more money in the savings account.

It will be a no spends day today. Number 6 for August.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is homemade pizzas cooked on the BBQ.

I think it will be a few beers sat on the patio tonight. Too hot to sit in the living room and watch some films. The dog will prefer being outside.

Might get a load of washing done and hung on the line as well. Save me a job tomorrow.

Shame you couldn’t get your burger deal last night, everyone else had the same idea by the sounds of it. Homemade pizzas on the BBQ sound great 😋

I was very surprised how quiet the beer garden of the pub we were in last night was. There were a few people in but nothing like usual. Annndddd it was a night where they have an offer on.
