We ended up cracking the BBQ out yesterday as well. Had rotisserie pork leg with vegetables, the carrots and beetroot were from the garden. It was absolutely beautiful.
Sorry to hear about your work acquaintance. Life can be so cruel at times. No one every knows what is just around the corner.
Glad to hear that you are getting out and about again. You sound in a much better frame of mind

That sounds delicious, mine was not that fancy - had a chicken breast each and some vegetable skewers. We neglected the things we planted in the garden this year so not had much of a crop.
Life is !!!!!! awful generally and yeah no one knows what’s around the corner.
I’m not great tbh I just want to try to do the right thing for my wife and boy and that isn’t me causing more hurt. I know they deserve more than me but that’s what they have.1 -
Today has the potential to either be a no spends day, which would make it number 5 for August, or it might go completely the opposite way and be a rather spendy day.
We have both been hankering after a decent drone and one has caught our eye which is within budget, has a cracking camera and records video in 4k. We have the money set aside in the savings account but it will wipe it out. We are just deciding whether to buy it now in time to use it on our summer holidays and for the rest of the summer or wait until we have a bit more money in the savings account but that will mean it is winter and we are less likely to have the low wind days we will need to fly it safely.
Either way, breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast is crumpets, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is a BBQ.
Tonight's jobs are:- walking the dog. He is going for a cool down and a swim in the stream tonight.
- load of washing which will be line dried
- deciding on the drone purchase

Ooh decisions, decisions. I suppose if you're going to buy it anyway you may as well get it now and enjoy using it. I'm sure you'll make the best decision for you.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Just a thought but are you more likely to get a better deal in the winter when the drone is less likely to get used, buy in readiness for next summer or do you particularly want to capture drone footage of your summer holiday?1

Ooohhhhh…..exciting. My Dh would love a drone. We visited a friend with one - all singing and dancing - and Dh was in his element. The friend has acres of land on which to ‘play’ though…..and since we are directly under the flight path to the big North West airport, with planes going over every 90 seconds or so. It doesn’t seem feasible for us. Enjoy 👍January spends - £587.581

We would like one to take away on holiday with us but it wouldn't be the end of the world if we didn't get it before we went.
The one we are looking at is 249g so falls under the weight at which they have to be registered and licenced, just. It is classed as a toy. The limit is 250g. Although the footage and pictures it can take are really very good for something so small.
Luckily there are not that many restricted areas around where we live and a quick check suggests there are not that many where we are going on holiday this year.

If you buy it later the price may have risen along with everything else or as alt said you may get a better deal in the winter in which case you might be better to wait until after Christmas. Decisions are never easy.

Yesterday did turn out to be a no spends day. We are still dithering about the drone.
Today most definitely isn't a no spends day. We have filled up the car with diesel this morning.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is another BBQ.
Tonight's jobs are:- walking the dog when it has cooled down
- cleaning the kitchen which shouldn't take long it has hardly been used this week
