Drove past two of our local stations on the way home. No queues but no diesel either, both had sold out.
We wouldn't usually use either of them though as they are way more expensive than the supermarket stations just down the road. We have a choice of Asda, Sainsbury, Tesco, Morrisons, BP, Shell and Esso in a very short distance so hopefully one will have some diesel for us in the morning. If not it is motorway services and extortionate prices 😕0 -
The pizzas were a big hit and they bought cakes in yesterday for a MacMillan coffee morning which raised a whopping £600 after the cost of the cakes was taken into account.alt80 said:I sent my Mrs out to fill the cars earlier she came to work and did a couple of staff cars too. Not panicking about it or anything just being sensible.
Pre covid used to go to the pub Friday after work, some of my staff have started going again in the past few weeks. I can’t go for obvious reasons. Do the office lunches once a month or did pre-covid I should start that again thanks for prompt.
My wife is organising a Christmas lunch and a staff evening I’m paying for but not allowed to go to.
We are all a bit suspicious now as to what they are trying to sweeten us up for 🤣🤣🤣1 -
Hope you get your diesel- somewhere before Scotland will have some…..👍January spends - £587.580

We will get some somewhere I'm sure. At least we have our accommodation with us if we have to wait somewhere for a fuel delivery to arrive 🤣🤣🤣1

That’s brilliant re MacMillan. Precovid we used to do 2 of the coffee mornings a year, my secretary is an amazing baker and my wife would do the coffee she did a barista course in town few years back. Always nice events and raises a bit of money for a good cause. Since covid we’ve been really busy and my head hasn’t been in a very good place generally. Your posts have made me think we def need to do another one.
You’ll get up the M1 lol.2 -
We are up and about. Quick coffee, quick walk for the dog, load the last couple of bits to load on the van and then we are heading to McDonald's for breakfast before trying to find some diesel.
Diesel and breakfast will be the only spends today. We have a scotch egg for lunch and dinner tonight is a steak pie from the local farm shop served with sweet potato wedges and chilli and mint mushy peas hopefully we will eat this sat on the beach front at Irvine not sat in a service station waiting for a fuel delivery 🤣🤣🤣2 -
Have a brilliant time. Fingers crossed you can easily find the diesel.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Managed to get diesel at the third petrol station we tried. First had run out, the second the queue was huge and backing up onto the A57. Tesco was busy with the queue running around the car park and it only had diesel.
Quick stop for breakfast now and then it is Scotland here we come.
