Spare a thought for us living in older property @RelievedSheff I don’t think I’ve ever seen a £60/m utility bill.

@warby68 I’m not quite sure what you’re trying to say but I can assure you I’ve never tarmacked drives for a living lol. That said I have looked them up and there’s one with a Ferrari tucked underneath it is immense, I love it. Didn’t even know something like that existed tbh fml see stuff like that and I know I’ve got a !!!!!! long way to go.
  • It won't be a no spends day. We have a home shopping delivery coming tonight for the van.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Crumpets for breakfast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is air fried jerk chicken thighs, rice and vegetables.

    Today's jobs include:
    • starting to load up the van
    • remembering to plug in the van and turn on the fridge
    • cleaning the bathrooms
    • walking the dog

Done the old house thing. Never again. It was never what we would call warm and the bills were astonishingly large even back then. I wouldn't even consider trying to heat one with todays energy prices!!
  • Not a no spends day today. We had to pick some screen wash and some coffee up from the shop this morning.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Cereals for breakfast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and king prawn thai curry with noodles and spring rolls for dinner tonight.

    Today's jobs include:
    • vacuuming the house
    • loading up the fridge and freezer on the van
    • packing clothes for the holiday
    • walking the dog

    Safe travels @RelievedSheff

Ikwym about old houses never really getting warm in the same way modern ones do but you can’t beat watching a film with the fire going and a hot choc this time of year onwards. My wife could charge kids from school coming here for that in the winter lol.

No, we are setting off on Saturday morning. We want most stuff sorted out tonight though so that we can have a steady relaxing evening tomorrow and just get up have a coffee and go on Saturday morning.

It will be a long day on Saturday so we want to be rested when we wake up.

Are you driving all the way to Scotland in one day?

Yes. We are meeting the other half's mum on Saturday afternoon on the beach at Irvine.

265 miles, which will be a good five hours drive, probably more with a stop or two to stretch our legs and give the dog a break.

We are just going to take it steady and share the driving.

We will definitely be ready for a beer when we get there :D

It’s a long way mate 100 you’ll be ready for a beer by the time you get there. Think you’re hopeful about 5 hours though more like 6.5/7 with lunch and coffee a couple of times unless one of you is jumping in the back of the van to put the kettle on. 😆

Lot of idiots about on the roads today almost had a !!!!!! in a lorry take the side of EQC out and Mrs has had a learner nearly roll into the back of her in the Range get through today with the cars unscathed we’ll be doing ok fml.
