It will be a low spend day today.

Need to get some fruit and vegetables from the farm shop but that will be about it on the spends front.

Breakfast,  lunch and dinner will be from stores. Full English for breakfast, soup for lunch and chicken Thai curry with noodles and spring rolls for dinner tonight.

We will take the dog out somewhere for a long walk,  not sure where yet. But we don't have much else to do today so we can make it a super long and muddy one.

Ha wife gone out for long walk with son and dog this morning. I probably should do some lunch for them rather than sitting on my phone lol.

Yeah probably right re quarantine. My dad’s told me I can keep the corona here and serves me right for settling in Shottingham ha. He refused to let sister stay in the brief time we could go and she’s in low corona area with low risk of catching it (rural, in a job she can do entirely from home etc) so if it’s bad here no way will he let us stay so holiday may well be off next year now another full lockdown imminent. Looking out for island I suppose - mainly older people there and not great hospitals etc.

Id quite like to do a canal boating holiday in uk - do you need any special training to drive a boat?

No special training at all. They give you a handover and take you out to learn the ropes if needs be. We hire river cruisers rather than narrowboats and they are pretty easy to handle. A lit easier than our own boat!

We have spent a little bit more than expected today as we have got some paint and a few DIY bits in and ordered some stuff online for a few projects in the house in readiness for the next lock down. Got to keep the other half busy and out of my hair while I am working from home and he is presumably furloughed,  or whatever the next scheme will be.

  • Well done on your debt payments so far. It's always nice if you can have a few quick wins towards the start. Are you going to focus on your cards with highest interest now? Do you ever check hubby credit score to see if he has any offers for 0% balance transfers for some of your cards with interest? The 0% cards that are left do you pay just over the min payment or more? If more maybe consider reducing them down and paying more off the interest ones as when you come to do mortgage application it will look better if you can have cats utilisation to below 50% and have it in 0% cards.
    *Dad loan - £5300 - £7200
    *Virgin Credit Card - £3552.50 - £0
    *Natwest - £1828.35 -£0.00

    Barclaycard - £2315.25 - £0.00

    Creation Finance - £960.32 £840
    *Total debt - £8040/£11641.17*

    Savings

Once the two smaller cards are paid off the bulk of the repayments will be to the card with the highest interest rate.

Once the remortgage is sorted we will look at moving the remaining balances around but we want to avoid any credit applications before the remortgage.

Today will be a low spend day. Not much to spend money on 🤔

Breakfast and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast is a full English and we have a slow roast lamb shoulder for dinner with all the trimmings.

We will be taking the dog for a good long walk today.

A dog is a great way to get out in the fresh air, I don’t know what I’d do without mine. Have a lovely day 😁
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

    Also love my dog!

You are living my dream with the boat and a classic car (make mine an AM lol). Can keep the new build though not for me, can understand why people like them though.

The boat looks amazing. Last time I mentioned a boating hol to wife she said it was a nice idea but I do know there are speed limits on the waterways and flashing lights at the boat in front to get out way probably won’t work haha.

If you don’t mind me asking how much is it to charter for the week?

We are thinking about putting some Christmas decs up next weekend yeah I know lol but with another lockdown that makes our tier 3 look like a walk in the park need to have something to look forward too?
