@RelievedSheff what rate is the furniture loan?
    9.8%.

And I know the extra should be going to Card 3 first :D

But with the furniture loan so close to being paid off I want to get that out of the way first and then everything spare can be thrown at the high interest Card 3. If we carry on as we are for a few months we are finding that we should have about £400 extra per month to throw at Card 3 and get the balance down quickly.

Well done, another one bites the dust. Sub £20k tantalizingly close. :)

Yes. Will be sub £20k next week when Card 3 and the HP loan are paid.

Ha you’d already anticipated what I was going to say lol. It’s strange tbh I know what to do numbers wise and the problem isn’t through a lack of being able to work out the numbers but a mental thing - think you fall into same category or I def wouldn’t want you working on one of my devs if you can’t do the maths ha. You know I’ve got a lot of admiration for you- actually really like you’re doing what is right for you rather than panicking and maybe doing something else which may make sense on paper but won’t work for you for whatever reason.

I knew what you were going to say. And in a lot of ways it is the right thing to do. But I just want to tidy up the easy targets first for the sake of a couple of payments and then settle in to hitting that balance on the high interest card.

I think we have got past the panic point now. Things are definitely getting easy as the balances are paid off and payments tidied up.

I will be glad when card 3 is gone. Can't wait to get that one closed down and gone for good.

Great news another card gone 🥳
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Glad that second card gone and it will be good to really start attacking CC3. When is your remortgage going to complete?

Not got a completion date yet but it will be in early May once the early repayment charges on our current mortgage have lapsed.

Not a no spends day today. We need to pick up some milk and a couple of other bits from the shop.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores though. Breakfast was cereals, I will grab something from the fridge for my lunch and dinner tonight is game casserole in a giant Yorkshire pudding with greens.

    Todays jobs include:
    • working from home
    • dusting the house
    • sticking the game casserole in the slow cooker
    • watering the house plants
    • walking the dog
The other half is going to go to work to fit new discs and pads all round on his car today. He will pop to the shops on his way back. He cleaned the bathrooms yesterday for me so that has saved me a job today.
