Anyone else have all these accounts already but wishing they had made it easier for themselves by making a note when/if they received any switching bonus.

    *Doh*
I don't keep good records either regarding switching dates/incentives but for this one I just logged in to my Noddle credit report for the opening date of the account for which I knew I had had an incentive.
Yes, the Noddle (now Credit Karma) credit report is a great way to find out about old bank accounts opening/closing dates etc.

Regarding the RBS switch incentive my cousin did the Nat West switch in January 2018 but she has also received a switch incentive from RBS when she switched from Santander. Maybe the crossing checking system is quite loose?
A few people have now mentioned they have received the RBS switch incentive even though they also received the incentive from Nat West. Possibly they do not monitor this well or don’t have a system in place?
You can get an incentive from Natwest, RBS and Ulster Bank. They don't cross-check, despite what the T&Cs say.
I applied for a switch bonus last time and didn't get it - despite meeting all the criteria except having previously had a NatWest incentive in the specified timeframe. I must've gotten unlucky, or everyone else got lucky.

I've applied to switch again this time round and will see how it goes!  B)

I'm banned from Natwest group so am only speaking from the experiences of relatives but they all found that if you apply for a new account and switch to one of the brands that you haven't had an incentive from then it is paid. But if you switch into an existing account but had it already with another brand then it's not paid.

Can I check my understanding of the terms - the bank account you transfer over does not need any active direct debits before it is transferred? This seems unusually simple!

If you needed DDs, this would be specified in the switch T&Cs, a link to which has been posted earlier.
  • I signed up for a RBOS select account but never received an email afterwards. I'm glad I wrote the application number down.

My digidocs registration for RBS failed because I was already registered for it with Natwest! Bashed my head against that one, even after a few support calls, until it finally twigged. Logged in with my Natwest login via the RBS link, and it was there :)
Uploaded the same ID pic of my passport I had used for my NatWest application and they rejected it :o They accepted my new photo, and account is set up, although still waiting for my card reader to activate it.
Wondering if I should open an Ulster too and chance the switch bonus. They don't seem to have the £5 reward though.

    Retired 1st July 2021.
    This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."

    Thanks for that info.
I used their digidocs service last October when I applied for a 0% Natwest credit card.
I was able to sign in using those details and upload my driving licence pictures,

    £100 switch offer

Earn montly Rewards. For £2 a month you'll get:

£4 a month back in Rewards for 2 or more Direct Debits (at least £2 each)

£1 a month back in Rewards with 1 mobile app log in

1% back in Rewards when you spend at our partner retailers: Caffe Nero, Europcar and more

To apply, you need to be 18+ and a UK resident. To hold a Reward account, you'll need to pay £1,250 into your eligible account every month

I had a look at the Reward account.
Is there a way of avoiding the £2 fee by having a permanent balance of £xK for a full month
or moving more than £1250 through each month.
I couldn't see anything but was wondering if there was something i missed.
