It's taken me ten minutes to set my alarm...
if I never get round to it you're cleaning your kitchen tomorrow. I'm going to rock up at the paid stuff for INSET,
i told her she could pay postage. Apparently she will...we'll see.
i have almost completed the thorough guest room clean. Need to wash mattress protector, not that it's mucky I just thought I would, move bed and vac and wipe that corner, inc skirtings. And dust the DVD shelf thingy. But my feet ache again...well ankles really. Am administering heat therapy. Happy birthday Round. Happy anniversary Dancemum. Morning all.
Dogs have got me up at usual time but there's no paid stuff today so when I've finished this cuppa I'm going back to bed as that is where DH still is. Hedge cutting planned for today. Septembers to do list is very long and not sure I can face any of it today.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Morning all,
Happy birthday, Round. Happy anniversary, Dancemum. In the WAC again, I am blaming last night’s wine. I had the weirdest dream, which involved all our cars being stolen to order from the drive. DD going to work early, so I’m up for that. DH has the week off, but as he is at home all the time anyway, I’m not sure that I will notice the difference.
The kitchen needs some attention, chutney has to be made, not sure that I have the guag to do any of it atm. Will go and see if I can find any when I get back from dropping DD off.Have a lovely day all.8 -
Morning all.
Happy Anniversary to dancemum and dancedad - enjoy the chocs! Hope you managed to get some quality sleep xx
Happy Birthday, round! Hope you have a wonderful day week of celebration xx I can't say "welcome to the 60s Club" as I'm already past the next milestone
ETA: Welcome newbies!
We had a lovely day yesterday. After my hour at work, we went to the local arboretum (where we had our family Christmas meal) and enjoyed an enormous roast dinner with all the trimmings whilst sitting outside on the terrace overlooking the lake. We didn't walk round the arboretum itself because (a) DH wouldn't manage the full circuit and (b) you have to pay to get in, though the visitors centre and restaurant are free to enter. Instead we drove to a local beauty spot (the big hill with the Iron Age Fort and the rock houses - anyone else watching the George Clarke NT series?) and DH made his way to a bench with a view while I took Rosie up the hill, past the Longhorn cattle, as far as the viewpoint and down again. After all that effort, ice creams were definitely the order of the day!I had almost forgotten what it was like to be retired! Home again, after a short Granny nap, I had enough energy to plant out a hydrangea and some bulbs, before writing the first of my reports for an upcoming AGM.
This morning I have hung out a load of towels and am already on my second cuppa. DH is on the move and going to SW at 8.30 and then on to the surgery. I need to write my other report, send some emails, place an order for bookshelf brackets and varnish, hoover up Rosie's hairs in the study bedroom so that I can use the space to cut out my curtain linings and cushion covers, pull up the French beans which have now finished cropping, re-pot various seedlings, plant out the crocosmia that DS1 gave me ("only" 3 weeks ago) along the drive, take Rosie for her walk, and phone an old school friend at 8.00 pm. The rest of the day is my own
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks to all in need. Hope everyone gets some of this glorious sunshine today xx

Morning all! Glorious sunshine here too Iona!
I blitzed the kitchen yesterday - it took me all day...but...it looks amazing! Just need to keep on top until I can get some help in. Got several ladies coming round for a cuppa and chat about what's needed this week, so hopefully one will fit the bill and help me get this pit in order!
More chicks hatched yesterday - and some this morning with a few left pipping, so I'll check on those in a while. Blind spaniel day boarder has arrived and DH packed off to work with lunch and coffee.
I'll be starting in the dining room this morning after feeding all the children, dogs and zoo animals then moving my attentions to the laundry room (**scared**) and downstairs wetroom...
Hello to all newbies and happy birthday Round and Anniversary wishes to Dancemum and Dancedad
Laters taters xxxx

Morning xx
Thank you for the birthday wishes xx Happy anniversary dancemum xx
I was up early and came down for a brew and opened my cards and presents - someone in this house must like cake and ciderDS (and GF?) had come down some time after I went to bed and put birthday banners up on the landing, stairs and in the living room.
I'm going to have a shower, wash my hair, get dressed, then come down for brew two and breakfast.
I think I'd feel better if I didn't have 'and now the end is near, and so I face the final curtain' worming in my ear.
Lovely day so I'm going to strip my bed and set WM swishing.
Have a lovely day everyone

DD dropped at work. It’s sooooo busy out there - I had forgotten what traffic was like, so my once-quiet journey to work tomorrow might be fun.Dw emptied. Towels in the wm. Having a sneaky second cuppa as DH has gone out to get a prescription so I have the house to myself for a short while. Windows are open, sun is shining, and I am looking at the dust in the LR...8

Happy birthday and happy anniversary ladies.
A lie in for me this morning, the furry thing did not shout me to get up.
Bread baked and now cooling and dough is made up rising ready to go into the fridge.
Pots washed, dried and put away.
2 cuddles off furry thing so far this morning, now asleep in the sun.
Todays plan is make a meal plan, clean the bathroom, hoover up the 'kittens' furry ones change of coat is kicking off and shopping.
