Fayolle said:Well said, YL. I think you have it in a nutshell.
Round - great poem.
i am, in effect, spring cleaning the back bedroom. Daft not to, given its virtually empty and the drawers and wardrobes are empty. Two huge walks done, and we have just walked to the shop to get the kids a treat. I only had a small bowl of soup for lunch (that I made this morning) and still feel peckish, may have some cheese and crackers. A tiny bit of sweeping and dead heading done, DW has been on and I've unloaded it, recycling bin has been put out for collection tomorrow and I've decluttered the craft cupboard. Oh and ordered myself some new perfume, a treat for myself and I cannot WAIT for it to arrive. Next job is to order some storage boxes for DDs room and some paint samples.9

Afternoon
I certainly had a good day. We took the grand kids down to the local harbor to do some crabbing. They loved it, caught quite a few to. Then we had some lovely fish and chips for lunch. Had the bloody seagulls trying to steal our chips lol. Finished off the day with a couple hours in the park. It's tiring work chasing after them all day lol. I have no idea where they get the energy from, but I wish they could share itThink it's time to put the kettle on for a cuppa.
Hope you all had a good day to

My last day of freedom for a while. And it felt more like a Sunday than Sundays do, strangely enough.
Woke up with a cat either side of my head staring at me and when I moved slightly, one decided to disappear underneath the new quilt to curl up against the back of Himself's legs, as he had his first two days in a row off for weeks (they kept on calling him in for extra shifts, so he was never off for more than a day). Whilst this was all very cute, that cat has an unfortunate habit of stretching his paws out and ever so gently flexing his claws into whatever they meet - which in this case, would have been some rather delicate parts. So I got up, knowing he'd crawl out and follow me; the idiot animal slithered out the bottom like Tarka the Otter.
Came down and stuck last nights short ribs (special offer, couldn't be missed at £2 for a pound) back into the SC with some water and a splash of ACV to make stock, then got the slightly softening and disappointed looking beetroots from the fridge and put them into the steamer, setting them on indefinite, as one was the size and weight of a cricket ball.
I then looked at the rest of the kitchen, sighed and then
Put all the packets and tubs away.
Put the boxes and packets into recycling.
Wiped down the immediate area.
Emptied the sink.
Stacked the dirty plates, cutlery and assorted other bits on the hob.
Unblocked the sink.
Cleaned the sink and draining board.
Cleaned the bowl.
Rinsed a mug.
Made coffee.
Sat down and didn't move again, as I wasn't going to tidy everything up AGAIN.
Put a whites load on.
When he emerged, he immediately decided that he'd start cooking. Of course he did. Somebody had cleared the surface for him. It backfired, as the then realised in order to cook, he'd have to wash up. I didn't move from my comfortable spot and I've been here for most of the day. His contribution to catering was a cheese toastie, as he lost interest once he'd washed up. Didn't mention that I'd already had a giant crumpet, so it didn't really matter to me. Never mind, the toastie was alright as well.
Anyhow, had the beetroot soup with fancy cracker things (including charcoal biscuits) for dinner. It was very nice.
Other than that, apparently we're watching a movie tonight. And I'm going to give it ten minutes before I decide whether to go to bed or not, as I'm really enjoying the extra padding on the bed, the posh pillows and the wool duvet. That's brilliant, as it just feels so light and so warm at the same time as being cool.
Hope everybody's well - tomorrow is all about the next half term, lots is unknown, more will have probably changed officially by teatime, but we'll manage, I guess.
We're going to have to.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll10
