Just put a complaint in - £50 refer a friend credit not added within 30 days of fulfilling criteria
3 September - 10 debit card transactions had been made
26 Aug, 1 Sept  £500 + credited, 1 October £500 credited -only required to pay in £500 on each of first 2 months
    11 September switch completed
Definition of "within" - inside (something).
Edited fact second £500 was made on 1 September

  • I met all criteria on 26 September too and have not received the incentive yet. My friend who referred me copied and pasted this text below, taken from the email she received when she signed up for the refer a friend scheme. She has not received her incentive either.

"As long as you and your friend both meet our terms and conditions, we’ll send you both £50 in the third month of their new account being open.".

Looks like we will all have to :( maybe Metro Bank have hired the Quidco Transaction Integrity Manager :D
  • Yes, mine should have arrived at latest 2 days ago.
Pretty poor performance by them, untrustworthy bank obviously.

Just been on the phone to the bank to put in a complaint. Spoke to 2 people ( security each time) before getting put through to complaints department (security again), unbeliveably, the first thing she said to me was, who told you or where did you see that you would get £50 for being referred to us as i have never heard of this !!!  There's only a big page on your website advertising this i said. I had to then leave it with her to find out more, but she did get back to me and said that i am on the list to be paid tomorrow....how many of you, like me, think that is a load of bull !

This link is the FAQs which also state the £50 will be paid within the third month of the account being open. Of course this isn’t what the T&Cs say.
I fulfilled all conditions on 26 Sept so I’m also overdue the joining bonus.
  • I was hoping for a few of these but I'll not hold my breath.

Metro aren't covering themselves in glory here!
  • Quick Question: Does the person being referred has to pay in £500 each calendar month or the month starting from the day of his account opening? Metro Bank's T&C's doesn't say much on this.
    TIA

My instincts are to always to never gamble with the t&c's. Just pay the £500 in from the start and then also again each month in the next 2 months to make sure, as it's no hardship paying £500 in and back out same day.
