31 October secure message sent complaint re £50 refer a friend not added within terms and conditions timescale
3 November reply received asking me to phone about it
5th November reply received saying could  raise complaint via secure message, needed me to quote account number it relates to even though I only hold 1 account
6th November reply received repeating above reply even though I quoted account number when I replied to 5th November reply

I have replied asking if a robot has been replying to my secure messages and asking for responses to be reviewed with my apparent  concern about very poor responses wasting my time added to my complaint
Get asked whether want to stay logged in, click yes and guess what " an error occured" logged out, so much for a "ethical bank"

Thanks - didn't realise you could send secure messages from their website :) message sent

Recorded times of replies that I received 22.58, 22.59 23.47, 06.12, 00.47  took it to twitter after I posted replies on here :D
Have you received a reply from them yet?

Am going to assume that only 2 of the 5 forumites I shared the reference to followed the terms.

Still happy with £100 so thanks to Colsten and others on this.
Just checked my account again and see I've received a third £50 dated yesterday (13th).

Great start to the weekend. Thanks to whoever it was who followed the instructions.

Maybe they are doing these in tranches.

Note that no (even delayed) email notification of payment has been received yet.

I got my joining incentive but my sister did not, she received an email yesterday saying she didn't meet the criteria. We were referred by the same relative and had a similar timeline.

Here's her timeline, has she done something wrong?
    • 26 August we both got the email referral
    • 27 August she opened her account
    • registered for online and mobile app banking
    • transferred £500 on 27 Aug, 27 Sep, and 25 Oct
    • 16 September full switch of her old account completed
    • once she got her debit card, she made more than 10 online and store purchases in the first 2 months (Sep and Oct), then didn't stop using her card, made a couple more in Nov. Not in each month, but in total across the first two months there were more than 10.
The only thing we can think of is that she didn't have direct debits set up on her old Nationwide account, but DDs weren't a condition, were they?

    Thank you.

PS. Our relative got £50 for my referral, she has not referred anyone else except us.

Got 2 more £50 now - one more BonusA and one BonusB.  Which completes what I expected (I was referred and I referred two people).
Their timing does seem fairly random.
The two BonusAs (one 10 days ago and one yesterday) should, logically, have both come after the BonusB.
Or, at least, the BonusB should have happened at the same time as the first BonusA.
If you see what I mean.

If I were your sister, I would ask Metro which of the criteria I had not met.

Thanks both, she'll have to call them to on Monday. We just wanted to check whether we misunderstood anything. We're puzzled... my timeline was almost the same, maybe off by 1-2 days and I got mine last week.

Did she log in to online/mobile banking (as opposed to just registering) within 1 month of opening the account?
