Today I am grateful for my head taking what I said to her seriously, for cheerful pupils, for not getting too wet, for the fence men doing a fabulous job, for my cousin getting engaged.

Hi turtlesWell new patio complete and paid for. Looks fab. Spent yesterday on couple of large urns(plastic) given up trying to move heavy pots. Decided to get rid of all little ones. Spent most afternoon tugging at pots trying to get old plants out. Not spending today, will put money I get from cleaning into my bank to pay towards this months cc bill.Feeling tad down, probably not the only one, but living alone, think this winter with all the restrictions is going to be a tough one. Trying to stay positive and think of hobbies/ exercise I could do indoors. Luckier than most I suppose, have work and see dd once a week.Still struggling with vertigo this morning, bending down to sort out cables in work, nearly ended up on the floor. Tablets got do help but hadn't taken any this morning. Stupid me. Head is spinning now, so 10 min break from work.Ditty I feel the same, spending too much time in front of the tv, I must push myself out for walks or my back will play up. Wish I had bought the lobster to crochet in the middle aisle in Aldee now ;-) Got to love those middle aisles.Grateful forWeekend soon£40 voucher sainsbob from Hfax taking out car insurance, did online shopping for next week woo hoo.Hopefully a dry weekend, got lot of washing and need to get it dry outdoors.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/226

Hi everyone
Confession time - I went into the city yesterday with youngest dd and new dgs, and spent 60.00 on clothes for winter, I must admit everything I bought was needed and I managed to buy quite a lot (it was primani after all!) its because Im still losing weight and last years stuff just hangs off me! I just need a new pair of boots for everyday walking wear, my present ones let water in one boot and are about 7 years old, so I don't feel too bad but I know its going to be expensive, still they can wait another month. Otherwise all is well and as I was paid the other day bills have been paid and money moved around, so a new grocery budget has been started and the car filled with fuel. Hope everyone is keeping fine, my neighbours have tested positive for CV19 and only told me when they had been isolating a week, Im glad they socially distanced themselves from everyone though to keep us all safe. All my family are well, children all back at school and enjoying being back and everyone back at work. Im feeling more positive these days but still only seeing family and going down to the lottie, with the occasional trip out. I was happy in Primani yesterday, firstly it wasn't very busy but everyone was keeping their distance and wearing masks, so top marks to all who were in there!
Grateful for:
Being able to afford my new clothes otherwise I would be looking like a right scruff ball!
Family being well and fully employed
Having a good stock cupboard and enough loo rolls!!!! lol

Health
Had a spend day yesterday, and it was a takeaway but €6 between us for a huge pizza as it was a deal day, so at least it was cheap! Have been eating better than normal with the exception of that. Weekend will be testing.
did yoga yesterday 20min. Walked home from the bank today which took well over an hour.
Wealth
Wednesday was NSD 9. Weekend probably won’t be as I owe bf some money, but we are going to do a painting class tomorrow which is all paid for and has food and drink included so will save something there.
So I haven’t worked full time since March….
In Spain if you stop receiving a regular salary of more than €700, the bank charge you all sorts of commissions for having the account, making transactions etc. (if you are unemployed, the amount is less, but I am freelance)
Went to the bank to talk through the commissions/ fees. I was supposed to be being charged €40 for the account PER MONTH plus €6 for various transactions. They haven't charged the months I was on benefits which is nice I suppose, but I find the concept pretty criminal really. I knew it when I signed up but all banks are the same here (Save online maybe but i’m a bit suspicious of entrusting my savings to online banks?)
So from October I’d be charged…..bank told me I could get a credit card and use that for some of the transactions which would be free (as long as I pay it off in full each month)
The guy who served me assured me the credit card is totally free… so I signed up for it. It would be good to have a credit rating if I ever manage to buy property here.
I thought I had understood 90% of what the guy said but typically the doubts started creeping in on the way home about the other 10%..Ha. So I will have to see what they charge me.
I got offered 8 hours teaching per week from my main collaborator. With tax and social security that only amounts to €260 per month which is pretty depressing. However they may not offer me anything in the future if I refuse. I’d rather be doing something and just hope they will add more hours asap. My private classes should get me through.
Grateful for my new little work space, for finding some huge pinecones and for there not being any confinement in my zone… yet

NSD No 17
Did lots today out of necessity rather than motivation. Kitchen all cleaned, my bags, etc packed. Don't now about Himself. Things a bit fraught here. I feel that he leaves a lot of day to day things for me to deal with. I tried to do his online banking today and it just wouldn't work. I said "you are going to have to phone and speak to them because they won't speak to me about your financial affairs". Total disaster. He doesn't know the difference between his credit card and his debit card. Forgets his log in details (not that he knows how to anyway) and they are talking to him about downloading apps. He can't even answer his mobile phone! There are just people who cannot deal with technology and he's one of them. I'm not much better to be honest. Anyway I've dealt with paying his bills but it's not ideal. We've kind of kept of bank accounts separate for all these years because he's completely trusting of me to look after things but I think we are going to have to think about getting a joint account. I'm a bit wary because of things that have happened to me in the past but It might be necessary. The Boy told me recently that his aunt (on this father's side) had asked him to be her power of attorney. Couldn't understand why because she never had anything to do with him in all the years he was growing up but I'm also thinking now is it maybe a good a idea that we look into this for us as well. Depressing but maybe necessary?
Anyway, on a brighter note we're off tomorrow for a month. All being well, peace, quiet and lots of walks. I'm not even going to look at the news.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
I don't know your age Toni'sfriend and I am too much of a 'gentleman' to ask
but as long as you trust him not to use it until he needs to, and he is happy to let you carry on for as long as you are able, then a POA is a good thing to have if you are 60+.
I have one for my step-gran, we sorted it all when she came out of hospital about 10 years ago, and she was supposed to be falling off her perch - she climbed back on to her perch but is pretty much housebound, and her hearing is going - so I can do her home insurance policy, and can ring her bank when her fixed term investments mature, and put her money where she wants it to go - it is down to physical incapacity, not mental incapacity, and I make sure to tell whichever institution I am dealing with that it is physical and she is in full control of her faculties and they should continue to send the paperwork to her, so she can make her decisions, and I carry them out. It is very simple if you do it while everyone is still 'all there', much less so if someone starts to decline.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Friday- still on NSD 13/15, but the fresh food supplies are restocked, Dsis has a birthday parcel for tomorrow and DD was delighted when I suggested a chippie tea- we don't often have takeaways/eat out so a definite treat. Means nothing eaten out of the freezer, but I have taken a packet of mince out to cook tomorrow- will make bolognese so will use up some tinned tomatoes and bits from the cupboard as well.
Spent some time playing with my pony this afternoon and feel so much better than yesterday. Have sorted out my "hanging up" clothes in the wardrobe and have a box for CS or rag bag and another box of hangers that can go as well. It's all a reduction in "stuff to move".
Grateful today for- time with pony, DD being easily pleased, my decluttering mojo returning. AND payday has happened- this month I MUST be more financially focused!4 -
