I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Thanks mate, but as you can see I lost the all important forum like vote. I would therefore disregard all safety related advice I've given on this thread so far.facade said:Why is everyone reporting each other? What for?I actually agree with Mr_Spoon- advising people to fix their own tyres with temporary repair kits and treat them as permanent repairs is wrong.Reporting that we've done it before without any problem, but that if it fails the fixer could be up to their neck in doo-doo as well as injuring someone seems to answer the question asked.Rather like extinguishing a cigarette in petrol- plenty of people have done it loads of times but I wouldn't advise you to try it.

You are welcome just like any other new poster. Please ignore the poster as you have much privilage to post on the MSE as the next person. i would not bother reporting the post unwelcoming as it is but just get on with what you want to post.eoh1958 said:
Presumably the same reasons anyone joins a forum and finds something to post about.photome said:
Can I ask what prompted you to join MSE today and then find and comment on this particular threadeoh1958 said:

You're new, yet you are able to make a judgement about quality of advice on the whole of the motoring side of the forum. I've got an itchy chin. Must be from when I was on my local beach. That sand seems to get everywhere.eoh1958 said:Forgive me, I'm new to this forum and was wondering if this thread is reflective of normal discussion on here?
Professional qualifications and legislation aside, are posters seriously advocating DIY puncture repair as a viable long term option when you can simply go to the local garage and pay the apprentice mechanic a nominal fee toward his weekend beer fund?
I'm all for DIY and saving a few bob but sounds like madness to me considering the consequences should something go wrong.
Food for thought regarding some of the "advice" to be found on here.
I was not passing judgement, merely making a statement that going by the content of this thread I would be mindful regarding advice on other threads. But if it makes you feel better to belittle posters who disagree with you and/or have a low post count then fair enough.
I was unaware there is a criteria for doing so. Perhaps you can point me in the right direction. No need to be defensive
Welcome

That's just sent me down a YouTube rabbit hole ... apologies if it's done the same for anyone else.

Did when I said "reported" not make that absolutely crystal Clear?EdGasketTheSecond said:

Who knows maybe it will result in the new prolific misguided poster being PPR for a while.0 -
Apparently her lady ship has been reported multiple times under multiple AE. Often with negative resultsScrapit said:

I think there may even be a case for her to have multiple AE in this thread alone.
i have asked a few questions of her but she selectively ignores, just as she selectively posts and then deletes, making others look crazy.
I don’t understand why anyone feels the need to have multiple usernames and or post stuff of which seemingly they know very little0 -
And Admin aren't interested in the reports. They would rather sanction the regulars. Because they do nothing about AE, that then leads to it spilling into threads. Never as bad as this occasion though.3
