Professional qualifications and legislation aside, are posters seriously advocating DIY puncture repair as a viable long term option when you can simply go to the local garage and pay the apprentice mechanic a nominal fee toward his weekend beer fund?
I'm all for DIY and saving a few bob but sounds like madness to me considering the consequences should something go wrong.
Food for thought regarding some of the "advice" to be found on here.
I was not passing judgement, merely making a statement that going by the content of this thread I would be mindful regarding advice on other threads. But if it makes you feel better to belittle posters who disagree with you and/or have a low post count then fair enough.2 -

I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Goes without saying that on the whole the "professionally" repaired tyres will be road legal and only repaired if they can be repaired and there are no ifs and no buts about that.
I strongly recommed as others have here do not take a dangerous risk by repairing the tyre yourself especially one that won't be rapired by a professional outfit as it is deemed unsafe. Its just not worth the risk to others.0 -

I assume there is bad blood between certain posters on here that I'm not aware of?
Long and short of it, I think we can all agree that advising people they should run around with a tyre string puncture repair as a permanent fix is very bad advice.2 -

Ok, everyone else apart from the guy giving out said bad advice.1

Hands up everyone who agrees with Mr_Spoon? Lets see how many likes your post gets versus mine - that'll be as good a poll as anything: i.e. ultimately worthless but interesting all the same.4
