Nearly 60 - where did that time go?

I have re-evaluated my motoring budget for when I leave work. Originally, I was going to change the car for a newer model, then put some away each month for the next car change. I have decided now to change the car, make the new one last as long as possible. Then I will give the car up. There is no way I can afford an electric vehicle. My best friend’s husband has just treated her to an electric Fiat 500. It’s very cute, but I think £28k is crazy for a car that size.1

Good decision, ps your retirement is looking fab. I hope you are enjoying the weather.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220

It's bliss here as it has started to rain and temperature is coming down at last. I much prefer it slightly cooler. The hot weather also does not agree with my poor cat so I've had to clear up after him a good few times.

Graduation ceremony is all booked and paid for. It's not a cheap do with the hire of robes and everything, but I wouldn't miss it for the world. Boyfriend is paying for overnight in the hotel as a gift. I would have liked to carry on studying, but postgrad loans in Wales are not available after 60. I shall probably look for some free courses to do.

Nothing much to report on finances only that my car insurance has renewed and it's cheaper than last year. That was a bonus.

I knew I wouldn't go long without something breaking, lol. My rotating hot brush has rotated its way to heaven. To be fair, like all hair dryers, it only has a 2 year guarantee and I've had it 4 years so can't complain. Not much else going on. I am now getting a bit fed up of staying in or only doing things that don't cost me anything. Still, it's better to have a couple of months of this pain now, keep saving hard and I will have more opportunities after November when I finish. The aim is still to have all my costs and a small amount of money put into various savings pots covered by money I am saving now. Then any work I manage to get after November will be icing on the cake. I'll know at the end of October if my plan has truly worked or not.1

It's great that you are saving for the future. Is it worth finding a nearly new hot brush thing from market@lace or Fl£abay?Aiming for a minimal spend 20220

Boyfriend has offered to go halves on hot brush. I would say he's lovely, but he's probably thinking he doesn't want to go out with a scarecrow until November, lol.
