Nearly 60 - where did that time go?

  • I now know within a pound or two what I will have to live on for next nearly 5 years. :)

    Age 62 - £1365 per month
    Age 63 - £1375 per month
    Age 64 - £1385 per month
    Age 65 - £1405 per month

If I can just get something part time for 1 to 2 days a week, that would complete the picture.

Slightly concerning is the news that energy bills may start rising in April again.  I currently have £260 credit with my energy supplier and £380 in my separate energy account, so am comfortable that I have enough of a buffer for at least the next 12 months.

Nothing major in spending, other than £34 for my graduation gown hire. Optician thinks I may need new glasses in next 12 months, but explained to him that I will not be looking at screen 8 hours a day 5 days a week and will wait and see if further changes take place once my eyes accommodate to my new routine.

  • Well that’s it…my last day in work was on Friday. I received cards, presents and £100 which I will keep separate from savings so I can treat myself to something nice.
  • My first week looking quite good money wise. Have all my food and petrol for the week. Having takeaway end of week with bf….his treat. Tuesday - lunch with friend, Wednesday - dental hygenist, Thursday - hot stone massage, Friday - eyelashes, Saturday - hair. Hot stone massage is treat from bf. Everything else has been budgeted for.
  • Submitted meter reads and had energy bill for mid October to mid November. £120. The main thing is my usage is down compared to last year.  Am £370 in credit so feeling comfortable with it though the pricing is astronomical.
  • Leaving gifts will come in handy and I don't blame you for wanting to keep the money for a nice treat.

    Enjoy your new lifestyle ☺️
