sweetsand said:The MB people always send a video of the underside of the car being expected so what happens to your "GDPR"?? This is done before you normally pay ie in your email, inbox. I don't understand and this has been going on for several years - what do you have to counter that??
The vido is about 3 minutes long shows all supension parts, tyres, brakes, exhaust, etc and footage is in HD as it is very clear nice record0 -

You clearly implied that that videos would not be allowed becuse of "GDPR" - you comments remind me of those people that talk about the 'human rights' and when challenged by asking the 'which ones' they have no idea.-4 -
How do services costs at MB and Jaguar compare to service rates at other brands? Maybe the "premium" brands such as MB and Jaguar rates are higher and can cover the video costs, but not all brands.0

I hate to agree with sweetsand but Seat also send a video of the underside of the car at every service0

I work for a peugeot main dealer and if one of our guys sent a customers car out with the oil cap missing, there would be some serious questions asked 1st thing monday am. its a stupid schoolboy error, when you consider how much main dealers charge per hour these days.0

Surely a video of the underside of ones car is pointless unless said customer has the faintest idea what they are supposed to be seeing and looking out for.
Or is it just a "cover our backsides" if the exhaust falls off, 2 days after a service?
Do they talk customers through this virtual "tour" of their car, explaining, in detail that this bit is fine "as it looks like this" or this bit will need replacing soon "as it looks like this"?How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)-1 -

i think a video of the underside is good, it’s the only time I get to see that part of the car
If you think it’s pointless , you don’t need to watch it0 -
It's a bit like your employer installing a dashcam in your vehicle for your protection. It's to watch YOUR driving more than others. So the mechanics can't just the box like they used to. They actually have to do something.1

Although it is a little bit worrying that there are customers who DON'T think about these things from one service to the next!!
I realise most car owners aren't able to get their car up on ramps to check it over in such detail. But surely they should be generally aware of the overall condition. Especially TYRES. Do they EVER check the oil and other levels?
Do you have any sort of idea as to how many of your customers are fairly clueless when it comes to their car, and other than putting fuel in it, they pay it little, or no, attention the rest of the time??How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0
