UK's most unreliable car/........Which
Not a question, just for information really ....
Just got this months Which magazine that has reported that the Volvo XC90 is being reported as the UK's most unreliable car!?.....(I always thought Volvo's were really good).
Most reliable brands Lexus, Toyota, Suzuki, Honda, Mini Mazda.....
Bottom of the pile, Jeep, Smart, Alfa, Tesla, Landrover, MG, SsangYong....

We had consdiered the xc90 for safety, never sat in a volvo but as you said, i thought they were good all round. Re the Jeep, bad press but years ago we had a top flight Grand Cheerokee - had it for 3 years never gave us a problem0

I'd read about this on the Volvo Owners Club forum, they're not happy! It was reported in today's Times but no mention of Volvo, according to that article the top cars for flaws are Nissan, BMW, Range Rover & Tesla.
I haven't read the Which? article, I gave up on Which? many years ago as it publishes such nonsense.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -
(I have no experience of this car but...)So. It means nothing. It could well be because p[eople think volo's are reliable lot's of idiots bought this one and decided servicing was not requirted. I have now googled the car and this seems very likely.1

No different to every other reliability survey over the last 10-20 years.
Japanese top. Land Rover bottom.

(NB Autotrader reviews from actual owners also suggest they are not exactly happy..)Perhaps you would be happy to buy one then?

I have a 6 year old V60 I've owned since new. In the first 3 years it had a new EGR valve and 3 EGR coolers. At 4 years it had a new engine. At 5 years it had a new clutch. It's just completed a recall as the manifold may catch fire. It now has an outstanding recall for the seatbelt which will hopefully be fixed around December.
The good thing is that Volvo accepted all the faults as they occurred and paid for them on a goodwill basis, around £10,000 worth. But previous Hillmans, Vauxhall's, Peugeot's, BMWs, even my daughter's 16 year old Fiat have all seen the inside of a garage less than this one.0 -

I always doubt the validity of the Which? surveys as they only make the outcome available to those who pay.0

Maybe Volvos are safer because broken down cars are less likely to be involved in accidents.1
