  • I’ve been the walk in this morning and got antibiotics for tonsillitis so hopefully they sort me out in time for Christmas!

Thankyou.. I’ve set my op goal a bit lower for 2022 as I want to build savings and actually achieve the goal. I want to build a cash reserve that’s for emergency but also once it reaches a certain amount will be for OP.

It’s all a bit uncertain financially what I’ll have to play with but fingers crossed it should be more than I have now once OH is working. Even if he were just to take on his own direct debits (car insurance gym etc) I’ll be £200 a month better off straight away. Never mind giving him pocket money and paying for all the little trips to the shops and probably £100 a month in his fuel at least. I have high hopes for 2022!

Ooh and I’ve got an interview in January too. It’s for the next pay band so would be really beneficial in the next 5 years my salary would begin to increase rather than stay stagnant as it is now 🤞🏼 X

Great news re the interview and that OH will hopefully be a little more financially dependant in 2022.  Sorry you are feeling poorly again though.  Fingers crossed you will be over the worst and able to enjoy Christmas.

  • Looking at your goal I would reduce the O/P to £50pm and look to increase it when OH is bringing money in; yours can go on the mortgage and his covers utilities, food etc. It will also buy you time to increase savings.

    Fingers crossed for the interview.

    Hope you feel better soon.

Well done on everything you have achieved over the year.  What is more impressive is that you have done it despite everything else going on around you.
Wishing you a happy and healthy new year

Well done on what you have achieved this year, it’s impressive especially  considering you have been poorly a lot of the time. I hope 2022 brings you health, wealth and happiness.

Thankyou everyone and happy new year!

I have just fixed my mortgage rate for another 2 years 😬 it was a tiny increase in rate from 2.34-2.38% but payment has gone down by £7 a month which is excellent! I don’t think rent payments EVER went down! I could have waited it out to see if rates drop but I would rather be in a new fix now than forget altogether and end up on SVR as I’m a now or never kind of girl.

I’ve updated my signature. My current balance is £65,300. I would love to get out of the £60’s this year. It is possible if I work hard and DP is working too. That’s my key to success lol. He is on his HGV test as I type. I really hope he passes but if not I’ll just have to pay for another try until he does.

I’ve cleared my back garden and filled the trailer for him to take to the tip. And I’ve been the gym for the first time since I broke my elbow in August. I have really gained the weight. I went to next after the gym to return a dress DD2 didn’t want and tried a few pairs of jeans on in the sale but they didn’t look or feel good so I’ll go once I’m down a size. I got £17 refund so I’m in a +£ up to now today.

I’m back on nights tonight so gonna have a semi-chill day. Hopefully see my nan this afternoon. I haven’t seen much of her with me working (with a tonne of Covid+) and being full of cold I don’t want to give her anything.
