That is such a pain.  Why is it so difficult to get it right.  If I was doing someone's payroll and knew I had messed up in previous months I would be double and triple checking it before sending it off.  As for it not being right in Oct as well, they know this in advance they should be adjusting it so you do get the right amount.  You shouldn't have to call them every month. I hope this is the last of their mistakes

  • Thanks. I’m thinking of just handing in my notice. I am gonna calm down today then ask to meet the ward manager and tell her there’s no benefits at all to me being permanent.

I wanted to be permanent for other benefits too like triage training, trauma courses, Catheterisation and other little courses. Instead I’ve just been thrown in the corner and ignored. I haven’t even been added to the AED email list so I’m not even up to date when protocols and things get sent out I’m still oblivious.

It’s beyond a joke now. I’m gonna print off the payslips and show her it’s not worth me working for the rubbish pay and the stress.

It certainly doesn't sound like you are part of the team.  I hope they realise what an asset you are before you hand your notice in.

  • Yeah. I don’t think it’s intentional I’m just a number among about 130 nurses and because I’m quiet and plod along I just get left out. It’s not good enough though. I need to put myself first. Whether that’s agreeing to stay with some sort of chance of career progression or just going back to bank and prioritising myself and family over career path.

There was another nurse who has recently left. I feel like I have taken her place. She was always passed over and in the background despite being brilliant and after 5 years she said something to the manager. When they promoted loads to band 6 they only gave her a temp role whereas some rubbish nurses got permanent ones. Once that happened she found a band 6 elsewhere where she will be appreciated.

I suppose nursing is a female dominated profession which brings with it all sorts of politics and clicks 🤦🏼‍♀️

Roll on tomorrow to see what I get paid if anything. 🤞🏼

  • I can't believe they've messed it up again! Perhaps it would be worth considering a different location, albeit the same trust, but maybe a fresh start would get you the career opportunities.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
  • I know. I’ve just been on the phone to payroll and they’ve still not calculated it. He wasn’t very nice and said I should get it by close of business today if that’s what I’ve been told. I done my own working out last night and I’m owed around £1500 pre-deductions.

I think you’re right @MovingForwards I don’t think this job is meant to be. It just feels that everything is against me. I am so deflated today. I like paying off my moneys and doing my little overpayment etc but I’m sat here with nothing. I would have worked with the fractured elbow if I’d have known this would happen. I went back after 4 weeks instead of the 6 I was told to. No adjustments were made. I had 2 dementia patients that I had to do all the manual handling with because the 2nd nurse was pregnant. I must be soft in the head.

    I’ll update if I get anything 🤞🏼

I'm glad you got a bit more but they need to work it out right and show you how it was worked out.

Well today the finance agreement for the kitchen hit my credit file and all the credit report companies were emailing one after the other saying ‘a new account has been added to your report’ which in turn made me anxious thinking what have I done 🤦🏼‍♀️🤯 it’s scary having so much debt against me when 18 months ago I had none now it’s £75k with the kitchen and mortgage.... although I paid £40k rent in that time so it’s swings and roundabouts!

On good behaviour moneyfront I’ve been overpaying the bathroom finance and got the monthly payment down from £49 to £32.50. I’ve paid £100 off the credit card so owe £1500 now... I want the majority gone before the 0% purchases end on 20/03/22 the 0% balance transfer is until 2023 I think but I don’t know how the payments are applied to the balance.

even though I now have debts everything is 0% and I’m on track to pay it off easily enough most within a year kitchen is 3 years.

One new stress I have is the cost of living. I am really starting to notice the price of everything is going up. Food, clothes for the kids, fuel, gas and electricity..... it’s hard going when I’m holding the financial fort for 5 humans, a dog, a bunny and 4 fish 😂 xxx
