They didn’t blooming turn up 🤦🏼♀️ Said Monday now. They’re cheap and there’s nobody else available until august so I’m not in a position to moan at them. They’re a friend of a friend so doing it as a favour.I’ve been on my banks and took the odd £241 from the house fund and put it in my current account which has given me enough to cover my mortgage and the plasterer and other little bills without going into the overdraft. The credit card balance has been rounded down to £600 so that’s what I’ve spent on the bathroom this week.I had no opportunity at all to fit in a bank shift this week so I will have to tighten the purse strings a bit more. Plus I need to clarify it’s getting paid as bank before I do any anyway. Hopefully get one in next week 🤞🏼Got my car insurance auto renewal this morning. It’s going down £5 a month. I’m sure I can get it elsewhere for about £200 less so that’s on the to do list this week.Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Fingers crossed for plastering Monday.
Sounds like a productive week for you all though, and the chaos will be worth it in the end 🙂
Hope your pay is sorted ASAP.
Get some rest while you can, sounds like you need- and deserve it!

Hi! Well the plasterer came on bank holiday Monday and done 90% of it and left the most important part where we need to put the shower 😩 so I’m sat in the back garden stinking and the kids are in the paddling pool which doubles as a bath 😂
money wise. I’m down to £66,700 on the mortgage which is £3k down from day one so I suppose that’s good 😊 I’ve organised the return of the ridiculously priced sink and I’ll go to b&q and get a standard sink that does the same job. Got £40 worth of bits to return to wickes which will come off the cost of the ply boards. Still a good few hundred to spend but I’ve gotta pay it now I’m elbow deep in lol.Work wise it’s good. I’ve got my off duty until the end of august and she’s kept to the same sort of shift pattern that I done on the bank. I’ve logged a thing with HMRC online to change the new job to my main job. I don’t think I’ll be doing much bank work at the minute. I am 💯 drained of energy and I used to have the summers off so I’m not working extra through the summer.I’m feeling a bit 🤯 over money I think it’s because the bathroom has coincided with the new job but I think I’ll be ok from the end of the month as long as they pay me correctly. If they don’t for a 2nd time I’ll be demanding a faster payment.Hope you’re all well too! I’ve not kept up with the diaries as I’ve been so busy 🤦🏼♀️ XxxMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

It's a big achievement to return some things and not just stick with your original choice.
Hopefully your plasterer returned or you've reverted to old school washes.
Having your shifts in advance makes a huge difference to planning. Fingers crossed they don't mess your wages up (I'm still waiting for replies about mine).Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
Hiiiii... what a long few weeks! We finally got a shower on Thursday night. The bathroom is in a beautiful useable state now but still a few bits to finish. I went to a caravan in wales Friday night and came back last night so today is all about trying to put the house back together. Downstairs is in the best state it can be until the kitchen gets started properly.Moneywise... I spent £900 on credit card for the bathroom and I had £400 hanging over from xmas so they’ve been transferred to a 0% for 28 month deal. I’ll hopefully pay it off in 6 months. I’m in my overdraft from normal living as I’ve had no bank pay so waiting for the end of the month for my wages. Ive sorted the tax code with HMRC so just counting on being paid the correct pay scale now and the refund of last months underpayment.I’m not gonna go on the spreadsheet and update my signature until the end of the month as it’ll just pee me off. I think I’ll be back on track soon though! Here’s a little peek of my bathroomMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

That looks great and i bet after weeks of no usable room it is like heaven. If it was me i reckon i would find myself hiding in there so not needing to see the rest of my house until it was sorted lol.
I am about to start another job along side my current one until it ends in July. I am not looking forward to dealing with the tax man and unknown wages for a couple of months. Glad you have sorted yours out now. Hopefully it should help to get you back on trackMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

That's nicely done.
Hopefully the break was restful and you will get on top of finance again, don't put it off and just face it head on.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
Thanks @MovingForwards. I’ve updated my signature and my spreadsheet. I’m £1400 worse off than I was pre-bathroom but I’ve also missed out on approx £900 weekly wages so I’m actually not doing too bad! That £900 will come at the end of the month.@slm6002 I seen on your thread you got a new job! Congratulations! Onwards and upwards for you now everything is falling into place.Tomorrow I need to get the skirting boards on and the soil pipe back in before the forecast storms on Wednesday then it’ll be a case of painting and accessories when I’ve got some pennies together. It’s absolutely crippled me going to monthly pay 😭 they added my annual leave on eroster today though. I have a week off august, September, October, January and March so I can’t complain! That's not a bad difference and you've something to show for it.
Monthly and weekly pay all have their benefits and negatives. It's also hard swapping from weekly to monthly. Give it time and you will adjust.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
Little MSE wins today! Renewed my car insurance and for the first time ever paid a year in advance! I did raid the house fund but I’m one less direct debit now! Well 2 as I paid for breakdown cover so cancelled the £13 month for that too! £300 saving on last years! The excess bathroom bits got refunded to the Klarna so that’s down to £37 a month from £50
ive earnt £16 in last couple of days on prolific and I’ve had an email off work saying my £50 High street voucher is on its way for completing my online learning for the change of IT system.
Need to get this blooming kitchen out the way next then back on the MSE bandwagon! XMortgage started August 2020 £69,700
