Great news about the extra on your payslip, I had £100 extra and was pleased with that. Great to think that you can pay for some of the kitchen outright. Good way of doing it.
Try and remember the feeling you felt when you your saw the extra in your payslip also the feeling of paying it off the cc. You can control how you feel. The other thing forget. Great advice from Chigle.Without overpayments: 15 years, 1 monthsBecause of overpayments: 10 years, 10 months left until paid off2 -
Aww thanks for all the words of wisdom. I text her this morning as usual and just said are we putting yesterday behind us and we seem to be normal today.Tbh I think I’m probably the overbearing one. I’m a planner and over thinker whereas she’s more of a worrier and procrastinator so it was inevitable we would clash one day! From now on I’ll limit my excitement to this thread only then it can’t be misconstrued as bragging lol!Ive paid £550 off the credit card and rounded up the house fund to £2650 then when the statement comes I’ll pay the remaining £300 in full.I did get my eyebrows done @Chiglepig and the Botox. I am super happy with both. I’m 33 and gained a couple of stone the last few years and my face was looking saggy. I wasn’t even expecting my eyes to lift with it but they really have. I look like I used to, it’s very discreet as dp hasn’t even noticed (I’m not telling him he wouldn’t approve 🙄) it’s also given me the motivation to try harder in the gym too xxMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Haha yeah hopefully I’ll be bragging mid-end September when it’s all done. I think there will be nerves and worrying before then though.I’ve been on dp’s case to get his best friend to come and give me a price for the electric work (spotlights and extra sockets) so he finally rang him last night for me. The poor bloke thought I wanted him now. He was like I’m on a job right now I’m dead busy but I’ll do you through the night. He’s such a sweetheart lol. He was relieved when I said July 😂😂😂
We had our night away last night in the glamping pod. I’m just having my cuppa now before we check out at 10. I’ve used it as an opportunity to convince dp to build a garden room instead of loft conversion as this is basically the same thing. He seems converted lol so that could be next years obsession 😂
My mortgage will be down past £66,700 at the end of this week so that’s £3k off in 8 months. I’m quite pleased with that I always planned to do the journey at a leisurely jog to start with and then the last 3 years I’ll be sprinting to the finish line as fast as possible. Hi.. what a few days. Sunday afternoon I was working and received a hysterical phone call from my Nan in Leicester that she was worried about my brother so I had to leave work and drive there to see my family for 2 hours. Ended up getting home at midnight then been in work last night. My first nights in 6 months so that’s killing me lol.Work politics is going on... they’re talking about introducing new shift patterns so people can do different shifts rather than just day or nights 7-7:30. Everyone is dead set against it and threatening to leave but I went against the grain and said I’m happy to have more options as that’s what I have now as a bank nurse. Im probably not very popular now but hey ho!
The matrons were also saying they’ve give a&e 15 band 6 positions but half of those are already going off elsewhere on agency and using their 6 experience to move on which hopefully means there will be an opportunity for me in the future!Money wise I’ve not spent a lot apart from loads of fuel. It’s the end of the month so I’ll see where I am next week after bills etc have gone. Still no confirmation of my salary but I’m still hoping to be starting permanently on 17th May.XxMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Better to have a frantic call and it be nothing, gave your car a good run which is needed occasionally.
Hope you've a loyalty card where you get your petrol from!
Even if they introduce shifts, surely you all just swap to get your original ones back 😃
Grab the experience, use it all to your advantage and move up when space allows. Their loss is your gain.

Yeah my brother was ok thank god. My Nan was in a worse state as she’d got herself so worked up worrying about him but hopefully things will get better. It’s not easy when they’re not near. I wish I could look after my Leicester nan like I do my local one but I can’t spread myself any thinner.Pays not great this week getting £270 and my mortgage is £269.11 so at least I covered it lol. I’ll have to do an op next Friday to round it down to the next round number depending on what I can afford. This is day 2 of my 10 days off so I’m spending it in the house cleaning. It needs a good bleach from top to bottom. I’m just gonna get it tidy first then see where to start. I’m also gonna throw a tub of white paint over dd1 room now the loft isn’t getting done just to freshen and tidy it a bit for when she has friends round.I hated doing those 2 nights. I forgot how horrible my body feels. If they wanna give me a long and 2 short days then I’ll snap their hand off rather than working 4 weeks of nights at a time, I’m too old for that now lol xMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

I really struggled with nights as an HCA when I was contracted on a ward. Luckily we had a few members of staff that preferred the nights so only done around 6 the whole time I worked for them. I do prefer long days to shorts though. I am lucky that I can still do some long days in my clerical position.
Have fun cleaning, my place needs doing but I'm not in the mood.Without overpayments: 15 years, 1 monthsBecause of overpayments: 10 years, 10 months left until paid off1 -
I still haven’t had confirmation of my starting salary so I’m getting a bit of itchy feet. I’m supposed to start on 17th May so haven’t booked any bank shifts.I had a good cleaning day Thursday I sorted loads out in bedrooms and bathroom and even started emptying kitchen cabinets ready for the overhaul in July-Sep.Money seems to be slipping through my hands this week. We’ve had car stuff to pay for, Dd1 school shirts and shoes were ripped and filthy so that cost me £70, ive put £40 in fuel, had school trips and bus fares etc coming to another £60, clothes for dd2 £35... it’s just never ending. I knew this was gonna happen as soon as the world opens up. I’m gonna take the kids out tomorrow too if it’s nice as it’s my first Sunday off in ages.Mortgage sits at £66,860 I’m aiming for £66,215 ASAP and that’ll be the first 5% paid off the mortgage already! I’m quite pleased with how quick I’ve got here! XxMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

If you know what your shifts are supposed to be, then book some bank around them. If the job comes through then you've the bonus of bank for a few days, if it doesn't then you've got the money coming in still.
Try and save a couple of pound each week just for the kids stuff, then it won't hurt as much when things are needed. Same with your car.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3
