Those are very lovely glasses, @FtbDreaming, but let yourself use them occasionally - you shouldn't save the special things, you should enjoy them (but not with the small people around!).I'm very envious of your eyebrows, mine are in dire need - my eyesight isn't good enough to do them myself anymore. When we had our kitchen replaced, we booked design appointments with as many as we could - Magnet had great ideas but OUCH! The price. Wickes were more reasonable but still priced in interest free credit and only really worked if we used their installers. B&Q had nice ideas too but I wasn't impressed with the quality of the units. All of them gave us CAD pictures which we then took to Howdens the builders merchant and combined with their design ideas got a very good quality kitchen installed for a quarter of the price Magnet were quoting. My one piece of advice . . . don't skimp on drawers!2014 starting mortgage £165,0002015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in fullCurrent outstanding balance - £115,8562

Great tips @Chiglepig I didn’t think they gave you and drawings unless you committed tbh. It would be great if they did as I don’t have the most photographic memory. And I’ll deffo remember your tip on drawers 🙂
haha I can only see out of one eye so I did attempt to do my eyebrows once during lockdown. It took 2 hours and one was ok where I could see. The other was bald 😂

Grrr... just had my job offer and the salary is £24,000 I’m currently on £30,000 so I’ve replied and said I won’t be able to accept the job for a pay drop. I’ve got 8 years experience and am worth more than a newly qualified staff nurse. I said I would love the job for the same salary I’m on now. It’s really disappointed me. Just feel like it’s more time wasted on a job that’s not gonna happen 😭😭😭 the whole point I’m going for it was financial security and to go for band 6 and move further up the pay scale 🤯🤯Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Shame about the CT, makes it a lot easier.
Rather envious you've got your eyebrows done, costs too much up here to have it done regularly.
Let us know how your kitchen plans look.
Hope your nan has a speedy recovery, it's the shock of it happening and overcoming that which is the hardest, but I know she will get a lot of support from you.
What the heck are that potential employer up to. Keeping my fingers crossed it was just a mistake. At least you still have your bank shifts.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
Hi. It’s only £5 for eyebrow wax so I usually get them done every 6 weeks or so. My nan is coming along much better now. She’s just going a bit mad stuck in but it’s too busy for her to be in the shops yet.The recruitment woman hasn’t replied to my email about my pay. I’m in work at 1 so going to see the managers then. I don’t know if it’s in their hands tbh but they spend a fortune on regular agency staff so it is more economical to have me committed at the proper pay scale. I know what the issue is. They aren’t counting my 6 years on the bank as continuous service, if they say I’m starting at the bottom of the pay scale then I’ll just decline the contract. I’m not working for £5 hour less and taking on extra commitment and responsibilities.
To top it off they’ve taken 12.5% pension deduction this week and backdated the deductions. You’re supposed to earn over £50k for 12.5% 🤯 so I’ve emailed payroll too. I can feel things going wrong financially soon. At least I have cash saved this time.Kitchen design is Monday.. can’t wait. XxMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

I used to pay £7 before moving up here to have mine threaded, dyed and upper lip, it's £14 just for eyebrow wax in most places!
That's good news about your nan, perhaps a little drive out somewhere for a change of scenery instead of the shops.
Fingers crossed about the pay and keep looking if it's not to be.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
£14... I’d be the bearded lady 😂 Yeah I’ll deffo take her for a drive next week. The stitches come out tomorrow so hopefully she’ll be happier after that!I spoke to work. They said they’ve just got to get the manager to sign a form and I’ll get the same salary as I’m on now so that’s good! I’m not counting my chickens till I get it confirmed in writing though.I’ve had a bit of a spendy week this week so I’m trying to have a few NSD’s now. XxMortgage started August 2020 £69,700
