Maybe you won't meet target this year, but you can add a little bit extra over the remaining target months from next year to keep on track.

Spot lights or the adjustable ones on a track make a huge difference to dark rooms. If you've a lot of window sections rather than solid glass, that will also restrict light.

Hope your nan is feeling calmer after her appointment.

Hi! I have been and seen my family today 🤗 we swapped Easter eggs and Christmas presents. I was glad to get rid of the Santa sack full of presents for them but ended up bringing even more back that they had bought the kids 🤯

I got the most amazing Christmas present off my nan. I have always said when I get my own kitchen I want a glass display cabinet with glasses in. She’s only bought me a set of 4 absolutely beautiful crystal glasses from John Lewis!!! They are amazing and I’ll cherish them forever. She has also just completed on her new house on Monday and I’m so happy for her it’s in the best location. Smack bang in the middle of my 2 brothers. Near a village and local pub etc and she said once she’s done the house she wants to give me some money towards my new kitchen 🙂

I feel so happy now I’ve seen them and met my baby niece for the first time who is now 3 months old!

I didn’t spend lots. Put £35 in fuel (250 mile round journey and will do me the rest of the week). Spent £30 on food bits in tesco and gave my niece £10 for her bday. I was worth every penny.

I’ve got £350 in my current accounts. Need to pay council tax and a few bits on Tuesday but then I think I should have about £300 to add to the house fund on Friday! I am knackered working more but it’s worth it for the money! X

I'm glad to hear you've had a nice day with your family, its good to be able to see others again. Looking at your figures, I spent years not putting my mortgage into calculations as I got so depressed about the net worth but you'll be surprised how quickly changes.

I’m actually really happy at the figures with the mortgage in and how fast it’s neutralising. Around £4K in 8 months is fabulous for me. That’s why I like overpaying the mortgage as it’s money I’ll hopefully get back one day.

I purchased off the housing association too and the house was valued in October 2019 so I managed to get it at a discount and before the prices sky rocketed. My balance is £67,200 but I reckon it would easily sell now for £110k to a landlord. Not that I’m looking at selling anytime soon but it makes the numbers feel good! Xxx

Everything is coming together for you. The glasses sound wonderful!
There will come a time you can reduce your hours again, for now grab the money and use it to your advantage 😁

Very posh lol! I do love my nans! They indulge my ridiculous ambitions and make me wanna really achieve it for them!

My local nan (the one with memory problems) had a nasty operation yesterday to remove the skin cancer on her face. I took her and picked her up again and she was very wobbly and neurotic but is much better today so hopefully things will improve again now that’s out the way.

Money wise I’ve not spent a lot but I will be on Monday- well not lots but I need a bit of personal care like eyebrow shape and a haircut and some new underwear from primarni... probably get the kids some bits too. Doubt I’ll go Monday like it’ll be mayhem!

I’ve got my occupational health in the morning for my permanent post then somebody from wren in the afternoon for the kitchen measure. Got a design appointment booked for Wednesday. Never done one before so if anyone has any tips let me know. My budget is probably about £8,000- £10,000 so I’m thinking tell them £5,000 as they’ll try and increase it anyway.

My numbers in my signature are looking good so I’m doing well from a mse perspective 🤞🏼 Xx

You're doing great from a MSE perspective. I do like the glasses, will you use them or just display them?

Ooh deffo just display lol! I become super stupid but now I’ve had a drink so wouldn’t trust myself not to smash one!

The man is coming to measure the kitchen at 2. I’m gonna watch where he measures so I can do my own diy one for other companies lol. I don’t want countless people coming in to measure my kitchen but I do want to get multiple quotes so I know what’s fair and what I can or can’t afford. Looking at the appliances I think it will be cheaper to get them separately but we’ll see. I also have a huge american style fridge freezer which I’d rather keep than have a cheapo built in one (that sounds like I bought it for thousands it was £50 on gumtree from a posh house in millionaires row) so that’s one thing to write down for my design appointment. How posh does a design appointment sound lol!

I was made up with virgin. I rang up ready for a tantrum as the introductory price had finished. She was lovely and just give me another 18 months on the introductory rice so I was super happy with that. Sorted out the council tax. Still not had a bill but she told me the amount over the phone so I paid first month in advance and then set up a standing order for the rest of the year. I’m used to paying weekly but I’ll probably go to monthly once I’m in contract in work.

DP has finally agreed to a smart meter so we can change gas and electric suppliers but there doesn’t seem to be any good deals on right now. I think I’ll wait for something to pop up.

    The glasses are pretty.
Hopefully your nan will continue having a speedy recovery.
I measured all the walls, window and door spaces, then put that info into a website to design my kitchen.
Do your council have online accounts? I've set mine up but have paper bills sent for ID purposes, it meant I could see the figures while waiting for the hardcopy.

Hi @MovingForwards no online account unfortunately! The duplicate bill hasn’t even come either. I haven’t had 1 letter in about 6 weeks! The new postman looks dodgy af they’re probably all in his livingroom.

The measure was fine. I just left the man to it. I’ve rearranged the design appointment for next Monday so I can take my time whilst kids are at school. I drove past the showroom today when I went the gym but it looked rammed so I’ll have a mooch another day.

I got an email from recruitment saying they’re ready to give me a start date so I’ve asked for 17th May. I’ve got shifts booked upto 9th then want a week off before I’m committed lol. I’ve also confirmed with the Nurse bank that I will be staying with them too so all is looking good.

Nans been up and down. Had a fall Friday night but didn’t hurt herself thank god. She’s starting to look a lot better though. Memory is still awful.

I’ve been on a little spend today. Got new underwear for me and the kids and got my eyebrows done! I’ve also paid a £20 deposit for Botox on Thursday (It’s £100). I have a really deep frown line and hoping this helps. If not I’ll never do it again but I feel it’s worth a try. This is also the treat I said I was getting myself when I went back to work in December!

Savings is plodding along. And I’ve just registered to become an Olio food waste hero for a regular slot on a Sunday night from t3sco. I work until 7:30 and the slot is 8:30 so should work out well also might get us a few goodies!
