Morning all,
An hour or so at the allotment as the rain yesterday was a pittance, so I still needed to do some watering. It’s almost steaming here now, as there are a few drops falling from the skies. I wilted before I had done the intended jobs, so I have picked some beans, courgettes and a red cabbage which will have to be the basis of dinners for the next few days, and retreated home.DH is on the phone constantly for work, DD is still hibernating in her room, and I have an ironing pile to tackle. Bed stripped, wm run, now need to hang that washing indoors after coffee has been gulped.9 -
We have high cloud, it's a little cooler and a fraction fresher but we've had no rain and none expected. I have spent an hour watering the garden. I have also emptied out the water butt, swilled it and replaced it. Recycling bin it out, green bin has been emptied so it's back in. Done a WUALTD, washing on line, DW emptied.

House quickly hoovered through and I've done some knitting. After lunch I'm going to spend the afternoon in the cooler garden reading, until DH wants to go for yet another walk!Spend less now, work less later.9

Big squishy hugs Dancemum - we are all here for you, what ever life is throwing at you xxx
Well, we have been on flood alert for two days and the river is raging. Fantastic thunderstorms with amazing lightning - I was mesmerised. The 1am alert wasnt so much fun though! Rainfall in the mountains has been absolutely torrential - some localised flash flooding here and at the coast which has resulted in landslides and roads washing away. My friend's parents are stranded after their road gave way as the fire engine was trying to swim through. And it's still !!!!!! hot.
I've tried to fly, really I have, but I'm melting...and I had a few cross words with the neighbour to remind him that we own the driveway and gates - he only has access - and and that being rude to my visitors and allowing his dog to run all over my front garden doing her business isn't on. Especially as he moans if one of my dogs is out. On my drive... Cheeky git had the nerve to ask DH if they could come into our garden to pick our damsons later too! Apparently they only want 15 kilos... I'm beginning to understand why the previous owners of our house took them to court...
Anyway, cinnamon and apple cake in the oven, but it's taking ages to cook, so not sure what mistake I've made. Perhaps the hot weather makes my range grumpy too.9 -
I keep thinking about flying, but it’s just too hot and still to do anything productive.
I did manage to do the ironing earlier, and need to empty the dw now that it has run and cooled. Bed remade, but vacuuming seems to be a step too far.9 -
