Took my car for a free tyre check this morning and they were fortunately all fine :) Wiped me out so spent most of the rest of the day snoozing. Riotdude showed me a clip of Ant and Dec getting really excited over a pen that had a screwdriver and a spirit level in it and I thought my dad would LOVE it, so I've tracked it down and ordered one for £22, birthday present sorted. A huge chunk of my family is born in November/December and it makes present buying really hard, so I always have an eye out for gifts this time of year!
I also had a scheduled chat with my doctor this morning. Meds haven't improved my stomach any so I have to do another 2 weeks on them and then she's going to refer me for an endoscopy. Sigh.

    That present does sound useful.

It can take a while, they have to eliminate what you haven't got, as well as what you might have.... keep your chin up, it will be worth it to get a diagnosis....

Another lovely weekend here :) Mini riot hasn’t been sleeping well at all (getting a molar I think) so we’ve all been grumpy but last night she slept through and we all feel MILES better for it.

Yesterday we hung out at home and made smoothies and played in the yard, we did pick up McDonald’s for lunch though so that was £12. Today mini riot and I spent the morning snuggling on the sofa and watching Peppa Pig while riotdude cooked us chilli for lunch. Then we went to a role play centre (£9) and to Sainsburys. I let mini riot choose a few things as we went round and she picked a kinder egg, Christmas tree shaped crackers and some Halloween tinsel to decorate the flat. That plus our actual food came to £22.

Ive also been on eBay to bid for a Halloween costume for her- seems like such a waste financially and environmentally to buy things like that new!

Riotlady i hope you feel better soon, you should get an extension I am sure. I am glad you have been able to watch tv and saw some of your friends that does make such a difference. Have a good week.
Aiming for a minimal spend 2022
  • Mini riot is probably too mini for it, but A1D1 are advertising Halloween costumes online for £4.99 (I think).
    You weekend sounds very productive.

Thanks folks :) there shouldn’t be a problem with my extension in terms of justification it’s just a right chew on of a process- the lecturers at my uni are all lovely but the actual structural organisation is !!!!!!!
Hope you have a good week too @savingwannabe
Thanks @MovingForwards I’ll check it out! I’m watching a v cute pumpkin dress at the moment.

No spends today as I've been working from home (and resting from the weekend lol). Riotdude made cajun chicken burgers for lunch which were amazing!

Really unwell today, have got nothing done but lying around + occasional trips to the bathroom to throw up. I have to pull myself together to drive mini riot to her flu vaccination later today but riotdude is going to take her inside for the actual appointment and I can stay in the car so I don’t need to stress about making myself look presentable!

I spoke to the occ health doctor from uni who was LOVELY. Confirmed that I’m not fit for placement so I have about 3 months now to do some academic work and generally rest up. He also said he’s not sure about post viral fatigue and suggested I should push for more investigations from my GP, so I may bring that up next time I talk to them.

I hope you feel better soon, it's not nice what you are going through and need a glimmer of hope x

Do listed to OH as sometimes they see things, or take a stance there is something else, whereas our own GPs don't.
