I think it depends on timescales. Our underwriting was finished before the valuation, so the mortgage was approved straight away after valuation. If they haven't got round to underwriting yet then yes it will be at least a week after.

Our valuation was done via desktop on Friday just passed and it said it could take up to 8 days as because it is a desktop valuation there are other checks to be completed. We have been declined in the past because of senior underwriters so I hope it doesn't go down the same road. But as far as I'm aware the 8 days is to asses the property and not the application! Just got our offer through. 18 days from application which is quicker than current service level. So happy   
We are meant to exchange by Thursday, but Solicitors seem to be waiting on searches etc. Hope the HA are understanding on this, will try not to worry about it too much.

Congrats! Were you informed by your broker or did you receive it in the post? Getting anxious as I am hoping we should be hearing back in the next couple of days since our valuation report was received on Monday 8th Feb.

Our broker e-mailed a PDF copy, with hard copy to follow in the post. Our valuation was the same day, so fingers crossed you hear something soon.

We had an update on Friday from our broker saying Leeds requested more info about the property from our valuation so still waiting! They said they will let us know when they have an update again. I have a feeling its going to be another week

Our mortgage was approved on Tuesday the 23rd Feb, we were delcined by Danske bank so just a bit of hope for anyone who is in the same situation this is our timeline:
23rd December- declined by Danske after an appeal 
13th January- application went into Leeds following a DIP
20th January- additional information required by Leeds 
29th January- valuation instructed 
11th February- valuation completed via desktop. This was followed by a 8 day review 
23rd Feb- mortgage offer received
