New here, and new to house buying.
Wife and I are first time buyers, applied for mortgage with LBS. We have applied directly with no MA. We have not had a huge amount of contact with LBS so far. Slightly worrying but at the same time did get a text yesterday to submit valuation request which is now done, so that should be getting sorted soon
Timeline is as follows thus far:
- 7th June Applied for and received DIP online. Submitted full application same day.
- 11th June all documents submitted- 16th June email requesting documents we had already submitted... Sent them again and made clear I had already sent them
- 18th June email from LBS to confirm those documents had been received and application is with an underwriter. Also received text with link to accept terms of Homebuyer report/survey
Anyone else have experience with applying directly? How quickly do things move along?yes...
Can you tell the process is mashing my brain!
Are you aware of they are doing a computer valuation or a normal valuation for you...?
Applying direct I can log in and check the status but it still just says "Awaiting Processing" which isn't encouraging. Hoping they're just rubbish at updating the status...0 -

4 Jan - some further documents requested (confirmation of mortgage payment holiday, previous employment payslips and credit card statements)
8 Jan - valuation survey completed
And now we are playing the waiting game!

We're in the process of buying a shared owneship house, off plan.
We've had an AiP for a couple of weeks, but have been waiting to reserve and appoint solicitors; which we've now done.
Had mortgage interview yesterday and application going in today. This is via a broker. Have been told to expect offer in 3-4 weeks, but potentially longer due to the current circumstances. Hopefully it's not too much longer than that as are meant to exchange within 28 days of MoS (issued yesterday) - but I'm hopeful the RP will understand everyone's working to constraints so will have some flexibility.
Good luck to everyone applying at the moment.0 -
oh wow.my broker had forgotten to submit some details over to Leeds when she said she had...that's 2 weeks wasted.. time to wait another 6 days (as if this wasn't more stressful)0
