I agree with all the recent posts regarding these PDL Predators, hope every one is paid back some monies for distress caused by these Greedy Bar Stewards.0

Completely agree delete - they are predators.
I am now on my last complaint to be sorted. The Fo adjudicator advised that 247moneybox refund me interest and charges on most of my loans. They offered me £300 goodwill gesture, the Fo's calculation was £1100. I declined 247's offer so now it has gone to the ombudsman for a final decision. This was 2 weeks ago, I had a letter Saturday confirming its been assigned to an ombudsman and they hope to let me know within 6months - I am hoping it won't take that long!0 -
I've taken a back seat since I referred my Wonga complaint to the FOS, after all it's in their hands and it's just a waiting game but with the added bonus of an actual final solution to the complaint.
The adjudicator was very understanding and there were some very blunt and somewhat uneasy telephone calls however, only the truth is going to help and they would find out everything anyway.
I received a letter through the post on Saturday morning with the full and final decision from the ombudsman.
He found that the complaint should be upheld and ruled that all loans I had with Wonga from November 2010 onwards are to be subject of fees and interest refunds. They are also to remove all trace of said loans from my credit record and apply 8% simple interest up to the date of the settlement.
Having gone through the statements that I finally received from Wonga the total sum is just shy of £7.5k.
I am not sure how long it will take to get to my account but Wonga have 30 days to settle. Given I would have accepted £4k via a direct settlement I'm quite happy with that !!
I clarified some points with the adjudicator and she stated the following, hopefully this will help others when it comes to their win.
(1) The decision made by the Ombudsman is full and final - it can either be accepted or rejected, there will be no further action taken with regards to the complaint. If the claimant rejects the claim they will be able to take their complaint to court should they wish to do so.
(2) If accepted by the claimant, the decision is LEGALLY BINDING - Wonga have no say in the issue.
(3) There is a period of 30 days for which Wonga have to settle, Wonga are to instigate contact / payment directly with the claimant.
Soooooo, within the month I will be debt free for the first time in 12 years, I can move out of London to a much nicer and cheaper place and more importantly I can go to Tomorrowland next year
Finally, without this thread I wouldn't have even thought of asking for my money back so thanks to everyone and a big finger to the haters who tried to destroy the morale at the start.Starting Debt - £3082.10 - 02/01/16 / Current Debt - £951 - 5 Defaults satisfied
January total £663.10 - February total £302.18 - April total £1165

Totally out of the blue yesterday after posting in this thread about reclaiming, I received a letter from Dollar UK who are parent company for Payday UK and a number of other companies.
It says "You are due a refund - please contact us" and contains a breakdown of how refund has been calculated for two loans in 2014.
Basically its a refund of interest plus 8% and reason given is that from 1st April 2014 and 1st April 2015 problems with their system meant that they can't be sure they have got their lending decisions right.
Since 2010 I have had several other loans from Payday UK but there is no mention of those.
Should I respond saying I am seeking a refund for ALL loans taken out on the basis of unaffordability ? Or should I just be grateful I have been offered something ?0 -
Yes ask them to provide a statement of accounts so you can review exactly what the balance is.
they want you to just accept the 2 loans and not look further into it..0 -
Totally bizarre from the FOS. Of the 14 complaints I raised, only 2 had to go to a Final Ombudsman decision.
I've had the decision for both in the last week. 1 has been upheld (Uncle Buck), the other rejected (247MB).
There is a real lack of consistency here. I know they have to judge each case individually, but the details were virtually the same for both. And throughout this ordeal 247MB have been a total disgrace, so I'm very unhappy that they have got away with it.
These were both relatively small complaints at about £400 each. Its nice to get 1 to go my way, as I had written both off in my mind. Its also nice to know that these complaints have also cost these scumbags £550 each (plus the redress).
I am now just waiting for the FOS adjudicator to give an opinion on Satsuma. That is my last one. Then I can put this horrible ordeal behind me.0 -
Thanks for posting Ginger.Ice. your posts give hope to us all who are still in the early stages of the long process.0

Still waiting to hear from Ombudsman if my case has been allocated yet.Guess theyre getting busy nowQuis custodiet ipsos custodes?0

Give them a call or e-mail MARKOS72. As I said in a previous post, I received confirmation by letter in the post from the fos. Not heard anything since mind, I agree that they are very busy at the moment, this is a good thing as it shows how many customers are complaining about the Predators.0
