Saw this thread last night. I to have been stuck in the payday loan trap and ended up defaulting on most. Just from wonga and quickquid i have paid over £2000 in interest. I contacted most of my lenders last night to get account statements. Myjar were extremely quick and emailed me twice this morning.

Hope you all get the outcomes you want.
  • So my complaint for Lending Stream us been launched - FOS replied to me this morning. I have all my bank statements saved and ready to send them should they ask, as well as my credit report.

I'm in the 8 week wait (due to end on 22nd March) for Wonga, QuickQuid and Pounds to Pocket.

I emailed the above companies for a statement of my accounts. The only one to reply so far was Pounds to Pocket (£2500 in interest alone!) and will be chasing them again today.

Ladder Loans no longer exists and my complaint was acknowledged and is being investigated with their caretaker company. Not feeling too confident about that one but we will see what happens.

Suprised to see QuickQuid have changed their tactics. They have obviously been hit by the number of refunds being issued and are trying to put together an argument against any future refunds by trying to find out where we are finding out information. I'd be reluctant to send them a bank statement. I wouldn't want them to argue that I could have 'easily' afforded to pay back a loan because they saw me buying 'luxuries' like ordering an occasional takeaway or spending £5 on the lottery.

Affordability is based around having a satisfactory quality of life while paying back loans, household bills etc. Part of a satisfactory quality of life is having the odd luxury. I feel sad at having to argue that an occasional £20 takeaway isn't a huge luxury if you are in full time work with a healthy salary (well, healthy when a payday loan doesn't take out a grand at a time!).

Hi adzesc, MYJAR and WONGA are very good at resolving complaints, Quick Quid are crap, be prepared for a long battle with QQ. Take a look at DebtCamel website for lots more information and posts from successful complaints.

Hi justinsrival, We will have to wait and see, QQ are skating on very thin ice. The FOS are having difficulty with QQ and PDUK actually ignoring them as well as customers. The bad news for me is these are the two companies I have had a lot of past paid off loans with. I am in it for the long haul and I will not give up.

I do have a question that i hope someone can answer. I defaulted on a loan from different money. It was sent to a solictor within 3 months of defaulting and they put in a court claim. I didn't receive a ccj because i contacted them prior to the court date and agreed payment terms but had to pay an extra £50 to defer court action (they used a specific term for this but can't remember what it was). The payment arrangement was made with different money directly not the solicitors. Is there anything i can do in this case.

Hi adzesc, use the same process if the loan was unaffordable, ask the loan provider for charges and interest back and get the default removed. Lots of customers have had payments and the defaults removed from their credit files. As I said take a look at DebtCamel website.

  • Hello again all

Quick question if there is any out there who has a similar experience and can answer...

I have emailed QuickQuid for a refund of charges which I work out to be well over £3000 but I fully expect this to need to go to ombudsman stage as QuickQuid do not like to play ball, like quite a few others my constant re-borrowing was to fund my gambling habit

My question is if this goes to the ombudsman stage and they ask for bank statements, it will show all loans went to fund my gambling addiction, are they still likely to uphold a complaint after seeing that kind of information?
