1st update.
Wonga, lending stream, PDUK, sunny and satsuma are investigating.
Cashasap, QQ and piggy have denied so I have sent further emails.
Safetynet has offered me around £500 as a gesture of goodwill, which is a return of all fees paid. To which I have accepted.
It's wonga, QQ and PDUK who are the main ones to me, having used them for the longest periods of time.
£500 is a start. Thanks to all who mentioned the debtcamel site etc..0 -
Well done Bruster, QQ and PDUK will have to start engaging sooner or later as I believe thousands of customers have complained. They can not hope that by ignoring customers we will give up and go away, only a matter of time I think.0

Great result so far Bruster!LBM March 2013 DFD August 2016

Okay, I have a question and I don't know the answer.
I got into a mess with payday loans a few years back. I was in financial hardship after being hit by lay-offs in the recession a couple of times, and I stupidly got into the bad downward payday loan spiral with several companies and taking roll-overs that I couldn't afford, etc.
Once I got back on top, and with several payday loan defaults, I settled everything generally with partial settlements.
I accept I caused my mess, I was responsible for it - and ultimately I paid for it to a level that the various creditors found agreeable. Many with a lot of interest and fines that made them a profit.
Now I know I can attempt to claim redress for what is considered bad practice/unfair behaviour by the various payday loan companies - if they all did affordability checks on me, and searches correctly, most probably wouldn't have loaned me money in the first place and certainly wouldn't have allowed rollovers.
The thing is, I'm not so bothered about the financial redress. What happened, happened and is in the past, I've moved on and sorted myself out. What bothers me more than anything is the "hangover from the past" or "reminder from the past".
So my take is quite simple. Given that the payday lenders acted unfairly and the information on my credit files reflects their acting in an unfair manner, do people think they would even consider the removal of the accounts being reported to my credit files in their entirety and agree to never report them again if I agree to not attempt financial redress?
I know that they are entitled to report accurate information, my thoughts are that is the information accurate if the information is created via unfair practices? More to the point, given the way payday loan companies operate, are they likely to side with the way I think if it's going to save them money from not having to look at financial redress?
Or am I thinking about this all wrong and should either forget it, or just go for financial redress?0 -
Just cobble up some email and send it to all the lenders. If you get a result then brilliant. If not, then you were not that bothered anyways. If they do deny you actual cash. Then ask for reports to be removed.
Nothing to lose really.0 -
Hi workingtowardsdebt, I advise you to read all the posts on here and go to the DebtCamel website, this will give you ideas what to do to proceed with your complaints. If you are successful with any complaints the PDL often remove defaults for you. So have a good read and start the easy process to working towards being debt free.0

Thanks Bruster and Delete33. Let me rephrase though, "do you think that the payday lenders will put up less of a fight if they think they can save money from redress if they remove the defaults?".
Either way, I will look at DebtCamel and get some e-mails fired off.0 -
WDA took a week to get back to my statement request and are asking for £10 for a SAR :-(0
