Good afternoon all. I am back with another update! Yesterday I received my Lending Stream refund following the Ombudsman's decision. Initially they offered me £969, I rejected this and progressed to the FOS. I started this complaint in June '16. The complaint was upheld by an adjudicator, Lending stream disagreed. The case was then put in a queue for an Ombudsman, it was put on hold for a while as 2 of the loans were outside the 6 years. The Ombudsman upheld the complaint again (with even more loans that the adjudicator) Yesterday I received a refund for £7506.05!
My total progress so far has been amazing with huge amounts of refunds received. Most of my complaint were submitted in June '16. Below is what I have received back so far:

QuickQuid - Decision made by Ombudsman - received £8518.65
Payday Express - Adjudicator level - received £6737.55
Lending Stream - Ombudsman Level received - £7506.05
CFO Lending - Decision made by Ombudsman - £744.39
Wage Day Advance - Ombudsman decision - £166.30
Mr Lender - resolved promptly with company - £450 written off £250 refund

As you can see I have received nearly £24K back. I still have a few outstanding complaints, my largest being with Payday UK. They have not responded to adjudicator and now it is in line for an Ombudsman. This particular case includes loans from over 6 years ago - these have also been upheld. If the Ombudsman agrees with the adjudicator I may end up receiving another £14000!
Keep at it, and be patient.

this is fantastic! well done for your patience, i've just heard from adjudicator that my complaint for QQ has been assigned to an Ombudsman on 24/2/17; I hope the end is in sight!

My adjudicator has responded with her findings that QQ loans four to seven from nine in total shouldn't have been provided, which amounts to around £2,200 interest with 8% simple interest to be added. Waiting to see how QQ respond how we I'm expecting to having to got to Ombudsman for final ruling, as many have done on this forum.

Loans one to three were outwith the six year ruling and I never bothered pursuing those further. Loans eight and nine were affordable as they were small amounts and my circumstances had vastly improved at that point.

She also ruled that she feels the two pounds to pocket 12 month instalment loans were affordable and I've agreed with most of her findings.

My PDUK complaint has went to the jurisdiction team at FOS to see if they have legal basis to review as these meet six + 3 criteria.

    Hi All,

It's been an interesting read seeing some of the success stories on this thread. I have taken out numerous PayDay loans over the last few years and when times were tough instantly taking new ones the day after balances had been cleared. For a bit of background information i have never missed a payment and historically taken loans with Wonga, PayDay UK, Lending Stream, Sunny and My Jar.

To those who have been through this process I have a couple of questions if I may.

    1. When you have complained to the companies have they removed the loans from your credit file?
    2. Are there any templated letters/emails anywhere guide a newcommer through the process ?

    Many thanks in advance.

Mine seems to be taking ages. Letter from FOS dated 31 August. I hadn't heard anything by 6 Dec so rang. Was told i was waiting to be allocated an adjudicator. Rang again today for an update. Apparently it has been with an adjudicator from 12 Jan. I have heard absolutely nothing from them. It is a QQ one. Has anybody else waited this long?

I think they are just very busy at the moment. My first complaints to QQ and Wonga were sent on 31st August and then went to the FOS 8 weeks later. The last time I checked about 2 weeks ago neither had been assigned to an adjudicator yet. I am just letting them get on with it as I think that the more I try and talk to them about it the less time they have to look into complants.

This is my story so far:

Wonga - Complained to them in August. Some of the loans were over 6 years old. They did not uphold this. I sent this to the FOS - they offered me £193 to go away. I rejected this and am waiting to see if the ombudsman will look at older loans

QQ - Complained to them in August. They rejected my complaint. I sent this to the FOS in October and I am still awaiting an adjudicator

247moneybox - I complained to them about a month ago. They sent a very quick rejection of my complaint so I went straight to the FOS. I have not received an acknowledgement yet but I called to check that they have this and they do

Mr Lender - They dealt with this promptly and I settled with them for £405 and they wrote my loan off. They rejected at first and I said I was going to the ombudsman and they made me an offer. I could possibly have got a bit more but was in a tight spot and they ooked into this quickly.

H&T Pawnbrokers - I sent my complaint to them at the beginning of February and they are still looking into it.

CFO lending have also been in touch and I am due a refund as part of their redress scheme but I don't know how much this will be or when.

This is not a quick process but I hope it will go some way into sorting out my dire financial situation. I have a fairly well paying job but all my money seems to go on debt repayments and I can't save so have no rainy day fund. I am hoping this will help to change this.

Sorry to tag onto this thread, I'm new to all this! I have been successful in claiming back money from Quid market, cheque centre and cash genie, all paid into my bank account after the ombudsman had made the final decision. CFO Lending however are a total nightmare! Back in the beginning of January the ombudsman agreed to a refund of £175, CFO have taken my bank details and they confirmed the amount to be refunded, however shortly after this they advised refund take 6-8 weeks. It has now gone past the 6-8 week cut off point and they have ignored myself and the ombudsmans attempts to contact them.

The ombudsman has advised me they are dealing with another case where CFO have not paid a refund and are ignoring all contact from the ombudsman . I have reported them to the FCA who are currently doing an investigation into CFO. The longer it goes on the less hopeful I am of getting any refund back. I was wondering if anyone else on here is waiting for a refund from CFO, it's almost up to 4months since the ombudsmans decision, and I've tried everything possible to get my money back. It's really getting on my nerves now, do you guys have any advice or is anyone else in a similar situation with them?

    Thanks so much

Now got seriously fed up with Wonga, yet another generic email received asking for more time.

Never get a response from any emails I send them.

I've decided it's time to escalate to FOS.

Any advice on how to go about that and word the complaint etc?

I submitted my complaint online and just pasted in what I sent to the companies and their response and explained why I was not satisfied with their response.

If they keep asking for more time you might as well escalate as the FOS are taking a long time to look into these anyway so you might as well get in the queue with them.
