Costs £25 to start a court claim of up to £300 - you add the costs to the balance owed.
Can't see they would have a defence
If as Lisabillybob claims they are ignoring the Ombudsman it's a clear cut case of refusal to pay and yes it's slam dunk as they legally have to pay what the Ombudsman tells them to pay. Would it be worth it for £175.00.
Is this a case of take them to court they still don't pay up then what do you do. If the judgement is under £600.00 then you can't use the Sheriffs (HCEO). From watching that show on TV that seems like the only way you could get scum like this to pay up. I know the are regulated by the FCA but they have already stopped them trading so what more can they do.0 -
Hi folks,
Quick update on my Wonga case for what it's worth. Complaint filed on Feb 14th (Happy valentines!), automated response received on Feb 16th. I followed up with a phone call on 10th March and was informed the complaint was received, but is yet to be looked at. I requested my statement of account be sent in plenty of time prior to the 8 week findings deadline, and was assured this would be the case. The operator did note they were 'extremely busy with complaints' which is hardly surprising! Wonga followed up this conversation with another automated email (assumed as it was sent at 00:13) on March 12, explaining that my case was taking longer than expected.
I fully expect that this will end up with the ombudsman and I am prepared to play the long game. I will update as and when necessary.
Good luck to you all!0 -
Has anyone heard anything from CASHASAP? i've had no reply since 14th febDebt Free (08/05/2017)
QQ declined my offer, FOS now said QQ has offered £538
WONGA result from FOS in a few days.0 -
I got my last final response to from H&T today. They did not uphold my complaint so I have referred it to the ombudsman.
I also asked for an update on submitted complaints on Quick Quid and Wonga (Complained to the companies at the end of August and send to the FOS at the end of October and they are still awaiting an adjudicator.
This is a slow process but I hope it is one that will pay off.0 -
Finally got a response from Wonga on my complaint.
Offered refunds and full credit history wipe of 2/9 loans I had with them. I have decided to accept as these were the 2 biggest loans so totalled about 60% of the amount I was expecting. Out of the others, 2 have already dropped off my file, another 2 are due to drop off in May and the rest are due off early next year so I felt it wasn't worth the long ombudsman process, especially with the added complication of a few of them being over 6 years old.
Plus, the 60% will come in very handy at the moment.
Pretty chuffed to have another one sorted, the 2 I have left (QQ and PDUK) are progressing through the ombudsman process pretty quickly it seems so hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel now.0 -
Hi folks,
Another update on my Wonga case. I received my statement of account by email yesterday. In total I was approved for 27 loans in 29 months. Without meaning to sound dramatic, it was difficult reading through the loan amounts and terms as they are of a time when I was struggling so badly to cope with debt. Thankfully, I am through that period and in a much better place. If you are going through something similar, please get professional help. Find breathing space, and plan your way out.
Back to the update, I have this evening sent my response to Wonga based on the information contained within my statement of account. As I have said previously, I feel no shame claiming as much as I possibly can back from them. I accept responsibility for the first loan, perhaps even number 2 and 3. However, there can be no justifiable reason for approving a pay day loan that is in excess of 80% of a borrowers monthly wage. This happened SEVEN times!
More as it develops.0 -
Fourteen months of waiting so far. PDUK complaint started Jan 2016 PDUK ignored my Adjudicator at all stages, passed to a Ombudsman Sept 2016. Patience is the Key to this, waiting for an E-Mail from my Adjudicator as the last contact was in December 2016.:cool:0

So, Wonga have now finally got back to me.
They're only offering compensation on one of the loans.
Should I be forwarding this to the FOS or am I as well accepting the £186 they have offered me?
I had a total of 55 loans, loads being topped up. Total of £7,100 in initial loans, £4,405 in top ups, repaying a total of £14,523.80.
The loans were taken out between 17/03/2010 and 31/07/2014.
Is it correct they can't consider any that are more than six years old?0
