The final amount that they will be transferring me (not sure why but they said this could take another 28 days) is £4,200.26p
This will clear any outstanding debt I have, thank you to all the contributors to this amazing thread!
It's a great feeling when you read that email and see the amount staring back at you!0 -
Hi everyone
I am new to this forum and like you all spiralled into the payday loan trap. I am far from sorted debt wise but came across this forum when looking for advice on how to reclaim costs on mis-sold loans and thought I would give it a go. I am currently in the process of writing down all companies used and then will go from there.
Its excellent to see so many success stories!
Has anybody dealt with a company called OnStride? I am aware these aren't exactly a payday loan but charged ridiculous interest rates and was wondering I anybody had dealings with them?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thank You
I'm afraid I haven't dealt with them but hopefully someone can help or give some advice. Good luck with your complaints, don't hesitate to say if you're not sure about anything. Some great advice posted on here. Also, check out the Debt Camel website for more helpful info.0 -
Well here is something...
I had an offer from Quick Quid via adjudicator back in September which I rejected and have been waiting since then for an ombudsman to be allocated to the case.
However, the amount of the offer was something that would come in very useful at the minute so I thought I would call Quick Quid to see if their offer still stood (Don't know why I didn't ask my adjudicator first but hey ho). They informed my that as I had rejected it before they could not still offer it.
So... I thought I would email the adjudicator last night anyway to see if he could get in touch. He did that first thing this morning and advised that the offer still stood and now has 8% interest added worth an extra £300 or so!
I sent back my acceptance along with bank details, half an hour later I had the email from Quick Quid to say the refund had been processed and it has just appeared in my account (so all in all it took around 90 minutes from sending the acceptance to my adjudicator to having the money) - very surprised but very happy!
I thought I would share this as I don't think I have read about anything similar to this so hopefully it can help someone else out.0 -

Took them about 3 days in my case, got the same email0 -
Still waiting for any kind of communication from the ombudsman :wall: I'd almost forgotten about it until I logged in :rotfl:
Good news for others who have seen an end to their cases!0 -
So happy reading through this thread - been a good few months since I got my refunds through.
If anyone is still waiting for a response, stick with it! And don't let up. Keep chasing!
If you're wondering whether you could claim, it's free to try! Make sure you get your facts straight and send a clearly worded email in the offset.
Getting the refunds changed my life around. I have no overdrafts, my wage is now mine and I have "normal" debt and just shifted my credit card balances to a 43 month 0% deal.0 -
Hi all!
So I've taken my chances with the few that I took out during a period of desperation back in 2011. I've started by asking QQ, PDUK and Mr Lender for SOAs so I can see where the rollovers happened and the interest that was then added. I know for a fact I was in dire straits at the time as I'd lost a job a couple of months prior, took the loans out and then was relying heavily on a new job that fell through. I then didn't find work successfully for another 4 or so months, but by that time I was stuck in the payday cycle. This didn't stop until I went for a DMP with Baines and Ernst.
Here's hoping I hear back from them soon
Thank you to all that have contributed - I would never have thought that this was something I could do until I read this thread!

Hope you arent still paying for a debt management plan with baines and ernst..if you are do yourself a massive favour and move it to stepchange/payplan/christians against poverty who provide this service for FREE and all of your payments go to the debt rather than a company£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120

Thanks StokieBecks, luckily for me it completed ages ago when I stopped paying and went ahead by myself. I now actually work for a non-fee payer!
Thank you for your tip though, some people aren't sure that fee-free services exist and every little helps!
So I've heard straight away from Mr Lender that they've acknowledged my complaint and will get back to me within their usual 8 week window. Here's hoping!-as cunning as a fox who's just been appointed Professor of Cunning at Oxford University-0 -
After seeing this thread I got a friend of mine who I knew had been to hell and back with one of these PDL companies to have a look at it. She did and then sent off a complaint email to the company who had fleeced her for a couple of years. She got an email from them stating that although they had not yet concluded their investigations they would like her to suggest a figure that she felt was reasonable for a quick conclusion.
I don't know the sums involved other than "it's embarrassing" but thankfully she has got her stuff together now and is in no need of a quick settlement and would happily go through the whole process and see where it takes her. So with that in mind she wrote back to them and said excluding the first 4 loans she thought it would be fair if they paid back all the interest and charges she paid plus 8% interest.
They replied thanking her for her thoughts. She wasn't expecting a positive response but felt it was good to let hem know what she is about after their obvious attempt to get her to suggest a figure hoping it was much lower than what they are prepared to pay without going to the ombudsman.0
