  • Okay thank you, will give that a go. I used to have loans with Payday UK also but haven't heard back from them with the SOA as requested. Anyone had any luck with them?
  • Evening all! So I still have my big 3 to go. Payday Express, Payday UK and Lending Stream. I recently accepted an offer made to an adjudicator from Payday Express. I am now regretting it as I feel I should have requested to be paid sooner in the acceptance, their timeframe is 28 days however during this time for all we know the case could have been picked up by an Ombudsman. The offer I accepted is about 2000 less than the total paid plus 8% - however it is a substantial amount. I called on Tuesday to chase the payment up - they said it was close to the top of the list. I still hadnt received anything today so I called again this afternoon, only to be told that the manager who signs off the redress is not in today and the case may be looked at on Monday - I am devastated by this. So I would suggest to anyone that if they accept an offer at Adjudicator level then please stipulate the timeframe to be paid.

My Lending Stream complaint is with the Ombudsman (has been there for over 2 months) - however they have now received consent that all loans will be considered - these date from 2009.

Payday UK is going to be a very long wait indeed. Its now on its 3rd adjudicator and they believe they can look into all loans (this would be from 2008) however we are waiting for the business to accept or reject this. This could be a massive refund.

I asked if I could open a new complaint with quickquid about the loans pre 2010, however my adjudicator said I can no longer do this as I accepted the Ombudsman's decision....still I received over £8500 from QuickQuid.

Its all a really long process, but the amounts being refunded could be life changing. Once this is all over I will be debt free and have a substantial deposit for a house.
  • Well, still no further update from me. Payday Express keep saying it will be sorted soon. Their 28 days will be up on Tuesday. I do really hope I will receive the funds by this date otherwise we are going into the holiday season with lots of bank holidays and before we know it, it will be New Year. I cannot understand that if a business makes an offer that they cannot pay out sooner. Its very odd that every company is different aswell. Mr Lender replied to complaint and paid out within 3-4 days, QuickQuid 10 days from Ombudsman decision.
  • Well, I have just received a final decision from my ombudsman and it's good news.

Wonga offered to refund £1022 which was for interest on 6 loans which I had rejected and the file was then passed to an ombudsman.

The ombudsman has upheld my complaint and ordered Wonga to refund all interest plus 8% simple interest on 50 loans, I am in shock.

I don't have a final figure as yet but have accepted the decision, I will wait and see what that amounts to.

A huge thank you to the original poster and to all of the helpful and friendly users of this forum.

Keep at it people, I have waited since April since I first complained but once this is all over I will be debt free and my life completely changed, no more anxiety over my finances.... hang on in there, it is worth the wait!

Which email did you contact Wonga on? They've not replied to the email I sent them last month.
  • Just the standard customer service email, I doubt you will hear until 7-8 weeks from your email.

    Hey,

This is amazing!! Well done on your success and having the patience!! What were your grounds for your claims did you say financial hardship or just the interest or both. Payday UK responded to my email stating as I don't owe them any money now they dont have to give me a SOA, Is there something else I can do?

    Kind regards
  • In the complaint I stated how the loans were unaffordable. I didnt ask for a SOA with payday UK as I trawled through bank statements to see what was going in and out with them. I have never received a list of my loans with them, and until this point I dont think they have even given a list to the adjudicators. I would suggest you explain you are making a complaint and expect a response within 8 weeks, otherwise you will escalate the case to the Ombudsman.
  • Have had my initial findings sent to me by my adjudicator who is upholding complaints for all loans in the currently applicable period of Nov 2010 onwards! Now just to wait until new year for a response. I'm so pleased, and so grateful we have the ability to go forward with ground-breaking complaints to these horrid companies that prey on the vulnerable. I can only hope no one else experiences the financial strain many of us here have, wouldn't wish it upon anyone.

Send them an email stating you want to make a subject to access request. The reply will state how much you need to pay (probably £10) and what if any proof of id you need to send with the payment. Have a look at this thread
