Wonga would usually have to abide by your adjudicators decision unless you escalate to an ombudsman, then it would be them that decides.
Is the FOS assessment of your case acceptable to you ?
Hi Sourcrates.
The FOS assessment was acceptable to me yes however my adjudicator now has to consider the information provided by Wonga as they don't agree with her findings so her assessment could now completely change. She originally asked for a refund of charges etc for 54 out of 60 loans taken from them as she believes they were unaffordable. I now have to wait for her to investigate their responses. I'm just worried I'll end up with nothing now that I've declined 2 offers.0 -
Guys had a call yesterday from adjudicator to introduce her self and explain the process.
She asked why i felt the way i did and obviously listened whilst i listed my reasons...then she requested a credit report (done and sent).
Is this normal...she did mention she had requested additional info from Myjar .
I wonder how long this part will take.
HI Stuart30.
It's normal for them to ask for credit reports and bank statements. It's easier to back up what you have said when those are provided.
It is a long process. I believe it's been 8-10 weeks since my adjudicator first spoke with me, we email back and fore now and she's still investigating certain things.
Good luck!0 -

Oh ok thats good news...at least its heading in the right direction.
Ive just emailed her again as i forget to mention another reason i doubt MyJar credit checked me or took into account my situation was the 79 previous loans id had with Wonga and only used Myjar when Wonga refused me my 80th loan.
Maybe its just me but the above screams alarm bells...or atleast should have for MyJar.:o0 -

I would also think this would send alarm bells ringing, hopefully you get a great outcome!
Have you started the process against Wonga also?
I'm currently claiming against them, my adjudicator upheld 54 out of 60 loans, however Wonga have responded disagreeing with her findings so she now has to continue the investigation. It is a very long, drawn out process but hopefully worth it in the end0 -
Beyond delighted! This will make such a difference to me! Being able to clear my debt in its entirety and to be honest sleep at night.
I am so grateful to the person that started this thread! I only came across it about a week ago! Its taken me about a week to get my debt withdrawn from safety net and get my refund.
I had told them I would consider a refund of £3500 so I am well happy!
To recap I borrowed £13,591.19 from them repaid £17,664.46. I calculated I paid them £3714.27 in interest.
One down 8 more to go! This was my worst and biggest account and the effect it had on my life was terrible.
Swift Sterling was next, I've written to them anyway - can't hurt
I cant believe whats just happened! Sorry if I am rambling just so pleased its not just the money - its the end of a bad era and I will be debt free for the first time in years!
Fantastic result. Its very unusual to get such a quick resolution. Well done you. Glad it can bring you some security.0 -
Thanks Ginger, I had to reread the letter about 10 times to make sure I was reading it write lol. Yes I know I was very lucky and very fortunate. Guess they knew when I pointed out quite a lot of facts to them they knew that it was black and white and the severity of it was insane. I doubt the other 8 will be as straightforward but after this outcome I'm certainly happy to keep battling with them no matter how long it takes.0

Just a quick update.
Payment from QQ in my bank account! Less than 2 weeks from FOS decision and agreement sent back.
Credit file has been updated too!LBM(2) Jan 2014 - Debt £17500
Current Debt: £16411.26
Weight Lost: 10.25/60 lbs :j0 -
More success for me, offer from My Jar to refund £128 - interest on 2 out of 4 loans I had with them. They had already written off £300 when I advised them I was going into a DMP.
They will also remove from credit file.
Have gone back and asked them to add the 8 % interest and I would accept. I think they will do this, their email admitted that they shouldn't have given me two of the loans and they've stated that if I go to the FCA that my complaint with be partially upheld.
6 more to hear back from. I suspect 24/7 moneybox is going to be the one I have to escalate and I'm happy to do so as they are a total pain to deal with.
Not bad going so far............keep pushing people!0 -
So I have also started the PDL refund process. Wonga have been the most helpful so far and sent me a SOA for all 37 loans I took with them. I totalled the interest paid, ashamedly £5993.97 from 2009- 2011! Many were concurrent. Today, using the Debt Camel template, I sent my first request for a refund. I made it clear that they were lending irresponsibly as the amounts increased and were concurrent each month. I also had 4 late payments; they should have responsibly acted at this point? I am slightly nervous by the fact that some of the loans are over 6 years. I will wait and see what their response is. Has anyone received an offer after their first request for a refund?
The other PDL is PDUK and they have been aloof to say the least. I requested a SOA and they said they were not obliged to send me one. I then send is this your final response before i go to the FOS? They replied with
'A reply will be sent to you in writing once we have completed our review and this letter is called a ‘Final Response’. Whilst we try to respond within four weeks of receiving your complaint, if this is not possible we will let you know. The Financial Conduct Authority gives us a maximum of eight weeks to respond to any complaint. The ‘Final Response’ letter will inform you of the following: BLANK?? so not entirely sure what they are up to!
I refuse to give up! So great to hear that people are receiving payments!0
