I have had some success from Mr Lender and Ferratum who I only borrowed twice from so it's worth a shot.

Mr Lender are pretty good to deal with so you can't lose out by trying. Good luck!
  • Hi,

I'm quite new to this but in 2011 I took out almost monthly (12 loans over a 12 month period) a payday loan with Lending Stream, sometimes having 4 loans running concurrently- this ended with me contacting them in 2012 and me doing a payment plan with them. I currently owe them £224.

I have written with the template letter and am on about my 4th email from them now, they have said they took proper checks and they are not irresponsible. They have also said there was an administrative error on my 4th loan of which they will refund me £86, and they will reduce the amount owing to them to £84!

I have asked them what this administrative error is and how can they assure me there were no administrative errors on the other 11 loans, they are basically talking nonsense to me and sticking to the above offer - what do you think?
    Thanks

Has anyone actually had any luck with WDA? :T
They wrote my debt off (that was all I wanted) but they did so on medical grounds and that took extreme measures (bad publicity) before they did so. Tough cookies to crack they were, not even the FOS could help.

    Hi Coxy,

I made a post halfway down page 89 with a result from them. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Adamsssss.

    Brilliant Thank You..

I have had several fairly big loans with them but heard nothing back yet.

Thank you. I guess it's a different story if you had paid everything back which I have
  • Hi Folks,

How long do Wonga generally take to respond with first contact requesting SOA? So far not even an acknowledgement from them they have received the email.

    Hi all,

So Wonga have now responded to my adjudicator with this email.
I borrowed in the region of £10,000 so I'm not happy with this offer.
In people's experience, if I was to decline this, bearing in mind it's their second offer, could I end up with nothing?

Wonga responded late last night. Unfortunately they don’t agree with my recommendations at this moment in time and have sent some further information for me to consider.

    They’d also like to put forward an alternative offer to you in order to try and resolve the complaint. They’d like to offer you a refund of the interest and charges added to four separate loans and use this to offset your outstanding balance on your last loan (£325.52). Here are some further details;

    · total refund of interest and charges of four loans £428.02; plus
    · 8% simple interest per annum £66.92 (after tax deduction of £16.73); minus
    · outstanding balance on last loan £325.52
    · total settlement £169.42

    Thanks.

    Hi welshi,

Wonga would usually have to abide by your adjudicators decision unless you escalate to an ombudsman, then it would be them that decides.

Is the FOS assessment of your case acceptable to you ?

I've just had some amazing news! Heard back from Safetynetcredit after I turned down their offer to wipe my outstanding balance at £1100.

    Letter from them

Following a further review of your complaint we would like to propose that we write off your outstanding balance of £1021.21, refund all of the interest that you have repaid plus 8% statutory interest, and remove the record from your credit file.

The total amount to be refunded to you, including 8% statutory interest, will be £3318.01.

Beyond delighted! This will make such a difference to me! Being able to clear my debt in its entirety and to be honest sleep at night.

I am so grateful to the person that started this thread! I only came across it about a week ago! Its taken me about a week to get my debt withdrawn from safety net and get my refund.

I had told them I would consider a refund of £3500 so I am well happy!

To recap I borrowed £13,591.19 from them repaid £17,664.46. I calculated I paid them £3714.27 in interest.

One down 8 more to go! This was my worst and biggest account and the effect it had on my life was terrible.

Swift Sterling was next, I've written to them anyway - can't hurt

I cant believe whats just happened! Sorry if I am rambling just so pleased its not just the money - its the end of a bad era and I will be debt free for the first time in years!

Guys had a call yesterday from adjudicator to introduce her self and explain the process.

She asked why i felt the way i did and obviously listened whilst i listed my reasons...then she requested a credit report (done and sent).

Is this normal...she did mention she had requested additional info from Myjar .

I wonder how long this part will take.
