What is the debt camel forum/site address? Maybe I'm being crazy but I can only see their advice not others views and experiences

  • Thanks - it's strange - do u think this is the first step in them reversing the loan history as per the adjudicators ruling?

    Hi,

Provident don't offer pay day loans, you repay there loans like you would a normal loan, over a period of time, its just there interest rates are higher.

Similar advice for any credit card as well, your repayment is between 3 & 5% of outstanding balance, per month, so again, not the same as a pay day loan.

Theirs nothing to stop you if you feel you have cause for complaint about any financial product, but don't expect the same criteria applicable to pay day loans, to apply to other products too.

Thanks for your reply Sourcrates. As the basis for most complaints against PDL lenders is their failure to carry out affordability checks as required under S55B of the CCA, then it must be logical to apply the argument against different types of financial products if it cant be proved that suitable affordabilty ckecks had not been completed prior to lending. I borrowed multiple times from a Provident doorstep agent, with loans been topped up etc. From recollection any checks where extremely basic i.e. how much do you earn, who is your Supervisor at work etc. I think I will dip my toes in with a claim and update progress. Thanks.

    Hi everyone

I am so glad I found this forum. We have had so many PDL over the years and we are currently in a DMP which we have been in since 2013. If the PDL were more responsible I probably would have been forced to act sooner, oh well!

We have had 50+ loans from myself and my hubby (two separate accounts :s ) with Wong*, several with QQ and one with Sunn*

I have sent the first email asking for a statement of account so I can see but basic figures for Wong* look like I could be owed £4000 if I have completed my calculations correctly.

Does anybody have any tips? I have had a look at debt camel and I was going to wait for a reply and then send an official complaint. I have tried to read all the posts but its sooo long lol

Thanks for all the tips so far

So, complaint against Wonga now with FOS. I have sent off my bank statements and credit report, as requested. I have noticed that no Wonga loans are showing up on my report, no idea when they were removed! Obviously the loans are on my statements but will it make any difference that the report is now devoid of 'evidence'?

Well some good news for me :)

QuickQuid have replied today agreeing with the adjudicator, no ombudsman involved which I am thrilled about.

They had until the 25th July to respond and didn't bother so my adjudicator sent it to the ombudsman, however they responded today agreeing.

Thats me done with this whole thing :)

Received just over £700 from Wonga
Will get just over £1000 from QuickQuid
Mr Lender - Rejected, Adjudicator rejected, sent it to the Ombudsman, waiting now but not expecting anything tbh only had 1 loan (rolled over for 5 months) but thought I have nothing to lose so sent it anyways.

    Thank you everyone on here.

Good luck to you all

UPDATE* QuickQuid has just emailed me and told me they will be issuing payment within 24 hours, apologised and thanked me for my patience??? Hmmm, maybe they are changing their ways?
