Yes i agree people like you who can't even operate a self checkout correctly and then try and blame everyone but your self for your inability to do it is a big problem in this day and age with people.3guesses said:
Yes, they are blaming ME for Tesco overcharging ME because I didn't look at the screen.Spank said:Victim blaming? Jesus people are telling you to look at a screen when you scan an item & you can't be arsed.
Ok Karen.
Meanwhile, Tesco have done nothing wrong by charging me for items I didn't buy.
Wow. Just wow. No wonder this country is in a mess. Now people might understand why I generally don't waste my time posting on these boards.
You have done this not only once but several times in the same shopping trip and nobody else in this thread has had the same problem as you yet you are unable to even consider that it may have been due to you doing it wrong.
I'm guessing you have a lot of things go wrong in your life that someone else's fault...0 -
And this is why they give you a printed receipt so you can check you are being charged correctly as mistakes can happen. Had you done this then you wouldn't have had to go back.3guesses said:
Well, yes, that is rather the point: TESCO HAVE A LEGAL OBLIGATION NOT TO OVERCHARGE THEIR CUSTOMERS. Not the other way round.Pollycat said:3guesses said:Tesco is the only place I buy multiple items using the self-service checkout. I generally just give it a quick glance to check that I have been given the correct receipt (occasionally, receipts have gotten backed up in the dispenser and I've been given the receipt from an earlier transaction). Even if I had checked it thoroughly in store, I might not have noticed the charging of extra items. And that is the point: it is not the customer's responsibility to check that they haven't been charged for items they didn't buy. If the self-service checkouts can do this they are not fit for purpose. If you wouldn't have noticed the charging of extra items you wouldn't have been checking the receipt thoroughly. It's up to you whether you want to leave it to Tesco to not over-charge you.I don't. I want to be sure I've not been overcharged. This is a money-saving website after all...0 -
I must I've got such a boring life at the moment that I've tried replicating this error when I've used self service tills (as in the shop then swipe type rather than the scan then pack type) and I've failed.
The machine always has refused to scan further items until I place that item on the scales.
