  • Hi everyone! Thought I’d join. Can’t stand the waiting! My partner is a lot more relaxed about it all but I can’t switch off! We’ve applied through Nationwide for 90% LTV. We’re first time buyers.  Here’s our timeline so far:

29/07 - Decision in Principle applied for and referred, documents submitted same day
30/07 - Decision in Principle accepted
04/08 - Confirmation that documents were received on portal
    08/08 - Full application submitted
    08/08 - Valuation instructed
    11/08 - Valuation booked for 27/08
    18/08 - Hard checked
26/08 - Requested all our documents again?!
27/08 - Valuation report received under review
28/08 - Other documents received on portal
1/09 - Talked to Nationwide who said valuation was the same as our offer and we may have to wait until the 15th for their decision D

    so impatient 😂

Nationwide are being very slow and thorough for us 90% applicants... I've been promised an update in 2 working days after my applciation's been escalated to a senior team. Not holding my breath...

Folks remember It all depends on underwriting team not your valuation etc. NatWest declined mine right after valuation report was looked at due to affordability and my new mortgage payment is £399! They all are So strict now so gonna see this week what the reply is again and if they decline again I have to submit a new application to another lender.

*Nationwide don’t include tax credits for children over 11 * so I can’t apply from them.
    Need £127k on joint names

Yeah the lady on the phone said it was being looked at by more people due to it being high-risk. We’re in no debt and not even borrowing double our income, no bad credit etc so crossing everything 🤞 Good luck to you too! Will update here if I hear anything.

Our application is joint, both me and the wife have had emails from credit karma saying something has been added to our credit file but doesn't specify. Were hoping it's the mortgage and that they don't send out texts on a sunday? The hard search went on a week ago and we had separate credit karma emails about that.

There's nothing new on the credit reports as we speak and assume it will be added with an overnight refresh.
  • My valuation hasn’t even been instructed yet and my case is not going to be reviewed until 16th September now, I’m hoping to exchange on 25th September!!
  • FTB and had a DIP with Nationwide from June this year. The DIP expired so I applied again today and it has been referred - £150k house value, £135k mortgage, 90% LTV.

No negative financial consequences due to COVID as my partner and I work for the NHS, so I am concerned it’s been referred. Has anyone else experienced similar?
