  • Document processing time now 13 days, and we've just had to send something else.

It's been 6.5 weeks for us now.

Am I allowed to go stir crazy yet??

@Fizza01 I am not in the industry but that definitely doesn't sound right. There is no reason why anyone should have critical illness cover for a mortgage?  I'm not even sure you need life insurance, although its sensible.  But your doctors information?  That is very odd and I would tread carefully and definitely go back and ask why they need this.  You should know how your information is being used as basic GDPR
Thank you so much for responding. It turns out he asked me this, because they wanted to potentially sell me life insurance alongside my mortgage fix... It's done quite the opposite frankly.

@Fizza01 they are definitely NOT to supposed to be doing that - when they sell any kind of additional insurance they have to be completely upfront about it because of the previous dodgy dealings around payment protection insurance.  Glad you got it sorted out!

I have just found this thread, we applied for mortgage on the 09/05 through Mortgage Advisor. 3 hard searches and various requests for more documents. Case escalated by MA yesterday - have not heard anything since :(

Out of interest (and probably a silly question) for those of you who received a decision - what time of day did it come through?

@marrandrew I'm sorry you find yourself in the same situation, its very frustrating! It's also bizarre we have exactly the same timescales.  They came back to my MB to query something on my husbands payslip. He gets paid weekly and was given holiday pay for one week over Easter - what that means is two weeks wages go into the one payslip and no payslip the following week.  What's even more bizarre is that it says on the payslip 'holiday pay' so its not rocket science.  I'll keep you posted if I find out anything else! I'd be grateful if you did the same?
Guess what? they came back querying something on my wifes payslip and something related to the deposit.
    I'm losing my mind here.

It's bonkers how long it's taking. And every time they query more time is added on. I sometimes wonder if they are doing it on purpose.
    My timeline is as follows:
    26/4 DIP referred
    27/4 DIP accepted
    10/5 Offer accepted on property
10/5 Full application done, April payslip requested
10/5 Hard search done - clearscore
11/5 Instructed solicitor and paid money onto account
11/5 Text to say valuation booked for 12/5
18/5 Broker emailed to say property down valued by 10k.
    18/5 Vendor accepted 10k reduction
18/5 Application resubmitted with amended figures.
23/5 Two texts together to say valuation received and being assessed and valuation accepted.
23/5 Subsequent soft search appears on clearscore
24/5 Broker requested bank statements for lender of deposit accounts and full statements for second bank account.
27/5 I rang NW myself for an update. Next update due on 13/6
28/5 Hard search appeared on credit karma and clearscore
    9/6 Mortgage offer received
9/6 Instructed solicitor again now that offer received
13/6 Mortgage paperwork received in post
5/7/22 Contract papers received from sellers solicitor to my solicitor(seller delayed this due to not filling out initial paperwork straight away).
    5/7/22 Searches have began.
25/7/22 Received title report and searches back
5/9/22 Contracts signed and returned in readiness for exchange
