Been scrolling this thread for the past month and thought I’d share my timeline. For context: FTB sole app 75% LTV, in full-time employment, no other credit. Made the application directly with NW
28.04 DIP accepted
30.04 offer accepted
11.05 full application submitted with evidence of deposit savings
11.05 text confirming valuation to take place tomorrow
12.05 NW received valuation report
Hadn’t heard anything so decided to call NW on 25.05/10th working day after submission - published sla at the time. Phone advisor said everything looked in order and had been signed off by one underwriter but waiting for the second, they escalated for me.
26.05 received offer issued text & email, docs to follow in post and to solicitor
28.05 hard search appeared on credit file

Hi all
Just heard back from our MB and NW queried something on my husbands payslip on the 30 May. Does that mean we are back to the bottom of the pile again? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAArgh!!!! Hope you had a nice weekend0 -
We had another request last week too, so guessing we’re bottom of the pile again 🙈 hopefully the wait won’t be too much longer!0
-
We had another request too, broker managed to escalate our case so the request for further documentation (a fresh proof of deposit) came through on Thursday last week, which was surprising. Anyway, hoping to get something some final resolution this week.0

My broker has just contacted NW and because they asked for more documentation we are at the back of the queue again, so won't hear anything until 17 June. She's going to try to contact her NW Business Manager to get this moving, but I doubt that will make much difference. .Hopefully other people will have heard by now!0

. If you don't mind asking, what else did they ask about?

Hi there, MSE newbie here! I have had a Nationwide mortgage for a number of years. Recently I set up a meeting to discuss fixing a year earlier than length of current fix. I received an email from the mortgage adviser, prior to the call. It said:
"To proceed with the application I will require the following proofs.". Two of these have concerned me:
1. My Critical illness and Life insurance cover
2. My doctor's address
I asked on their social media help chat why they needed this. They didn't know.
I rang their helpline and they said: "I've never seen this before"
Now I'm worried. Why do they need this info!?
Anyone who might have advice, would be very much welcomed0 -
@marrandrew I'm sorry you find yourself in the same situation, its very frustrating! It's also bizarre we have exactly the same timescales. They came back to my MB to query something on my husbands payslip. He gets paid weekly and was given holiday pay for one week over Easter - what that means is two weeks wages go into the one payslip and no payslip the following week. What's even more bizarre is that it says on the payslip 'holiday pay' so its not rocket science. I'll keep you posted if I find out anything else! I'd be grateful if you did the same?0

@Fizza01 I am not in the industry but that definitely doesn't sound right. There is no reason why anyone should have critical illness cover for a mortgage? I'm not even sure you need life insurance, although its sensible. But your doctors information? That is very odd and I would tread carefully and definitely go back and ask why they need this. You should know how your information is being used as basic GDPR1
